General Leveling Guide

Hi guys,

With my warlock being on of several alts (the warlock recently having upgraded status to MAIN) a lot of the things about WoW that one needs to know when leveling up, I already knew.

This has become increasingly evident as I begin to help my younger (but still adult age) brother level his warlock. I've been helping him out with builds (e.g. take affliction early...sometime in outlands despec to Demo...etc..) but I'm wondering if any of you have any good leveling guides/sites that you'd recommend. I've flipped through the library a bit -- but as we're leveling together as orcs (I started a shammy) none of the ones in the library seemed very good.

Care to point me in the right way?

Thanks,

Zomgdotz

Re: General Leveling Guide

Hi, I'm new to these forums and am currently levelling a warlock alt, I have found Jame's horde/ally 20-80 guide very good it gives you precise details of what you need to do and gives maps etc. Best of all it's free

Re: General Leveling Guide

lvling really isn't that bad these days... do you seriously need a plan?

/shrug

just make sure you grab questhelper or carbonite or w/e other quest addons around to make your old world leveling 100 times better... unless you enjoy running around on WoWhead

Re: General Leveling Guide

Step 1: Use QuestHelper or Carbonite.
Step 2: Find a list of zones ranked by level. They are everywhere. One is built into Carbonite.
Step 3: Grind every quest you can find until your experience would benefit from moving to another zone, then move there. Repeat.

There really isn't any trick to it.

Levelling is very easy these days, you get a mountain of XP from quests and pretty much everything is solo-able outside of instances. If you're levelling with someone it will be even easier.

Just remember to do the Warlock lore and demon quests, otherwise he'll be like a level 80 lock I ran into the other day who didn't even have the ability to summon his Doomguard.

Re: General Leveling Guide

Best tip I can give is once you hit level 70, respec to a Felguard / Siphon Life / Soul Link build for lvls 70-80. It's pretty powerful because you can then send the Felguard into a bunch of mobs, dot them up with corruption and with all the healing being done from Siphon Life you can more or less go on forever.

actually, I think many warlocks who started playing post BC still haven't done that questline yet...you'd be lucky to find warlocks who actually remember how doomguards used to be so badass...

*sigh* I miss vanilla WoW

I too use the guide from wow-pro.com except I use their in-game addon. Now that my DK is fairly well off at 80 I am going back to my original toon... my warlock

Re: General Leveling Guide

While its not free, I have used zygors guide to level two toons 70-80 and recently a new toon 1-80.

my new toon hit 80 in under 9 days /played. it would have been much faster, but I was also 450 jc/mining before I hit 80 too :D (curse those last 20 ticks getting mining to 300)

Its not perfect, but the ingame addon is far better than joana's guide, which I have also used. Literally follow the arrow/descriptions to 80. It does class specific quests too.

Re: General Leveling Guide

Addons. It's all about the addons.
If you were starting a level 1 toon, I would recommend Tour Guide + TomTom. With a toon already advancing through the levels, try QuestHelper (my preference) or Carbonite.
Regardless of toon level, I also recommend LightHeaded.
