Wow what happened on Festergut
Hello fellow warlock's. As many others I have tried the demo spec, to buff my raid. The rotation is dull but damn it is cool to be meta. But enought talk about that, because something weird happened ón the gestergut fight. I Think we had 7 that was ranged but because we where more casters some of us was where the tanks was. This is where the weird thing happened, when I hit my meta button my damage went crasy, my home screen was full of numbers. I did over 13k dps, so I ask you what can have happened? I know meta got somekind of aura that hits melee but Can it really be it? Thanks Zohan |

You probably had Immolation Aura on, which can increase your DPS if you're close to mobs continually. It's like a very close range but powerful AoE.

if the spore was on you, the dot it puts on everyone else will show up as damage for you (though damage meters won't count it). Also, immolation aura ticks very fast, so, that, along with your other dots, will make it seem as if you got a lot of stuff being hit at once. as far as how much damage you did, it's possible to do that much on meta if you got really lucky on RNG and the fight was fast enough. Though I'm going to guess the 13K was only temporary and not for the whole fight, right? |

13k sustained for the whole fight or just the short time during meta? Cause meta itself gives a HUGE damage boost, combined with immo aura and maybe some other lucky procs getting 13k dps for a period of time isnt that hard. And yeah, Festergut is the spore fight, Rotace the slime fight. Executed properly demo locks can be top damage done here, hehe. |

when you have the spore and it runs out, it places a 5s damage over time debuff on everyone within 5y. when that 5s dot runs out, you get a stack of that -25% damage buff. whoever is the spore target is considered to apply that 5s dot and it shows as friendly fire on scrolling combat text or similar addons. Doesn't count towards your dps on recount and meta should not influence the amount of damage the dot deals in any way. |
