Re: Has this game created a monster?
The baby was just being used to make points, the discussion (I thought) was about video game addiction, I didn't realize the article was to be ridiculed only and not discussed. Then Angelina called me a vagina so I guess we're pretty much off the rails now.

Not everyone in the world who has a kid wants a kid and when you have something you don't want/like then you tend to neglect it also. A good example (not to equate a child to a car) would be if you had a pile of crap car that you didn't (keyword) care about, you would most likely abuse it and do whatever you wanted to it without regard...yet if you had the same car that you DID care about you would treat it like a lexus. Basically when you really love someone/something you go out of your way for it. Even drug addicted mothers clean- themsevles up just for there kids. It's the ones that don't care that let bad things happen. That's how people work. It's obvious that these parents really didn't care about there child and it wasn't WOW that did it, it was them. Anyway that's how i see it. |

Re: Has this game created a monster?
My Confession (I should start a series)... Everyday for the last 2-3 months I religously go to Warlock's Den when I arrive to the office, and catch up on the latest forums...this is in part, cause I don't have WoW installed on my office computer, and is the closest thing I can get to actually playing WoW while at work. Over the last few months I have come to the point that I thoroughly enjoy this Site and the forums, and have even decided to become a member...which brings me to my confession...I have yet to join this site, because by the time I get home, I am so deprivied of warcrack I can't even think straight enough to become a register member. Now I know, this is nothing in comparrison to leaving a 4 month old baby alone at home...it does show my addiction level... Special Note to Akasha, Thanks for the site, and I will do my best to register this evening (besides, I hate being a lurker and the ads blow (especially all those dating site ads)). How about this... The matter addicted to (drugs, wow, whatever) provides the occasion but not the cause, the real cause is the energy that is focused into the addiction and on the hunt for someplace to rest, whatever the origin and cause of that energy might be. I'd say that the solution is the emergence of a new form of self-self relation that comes to know what had been unknown about that energy. It's been called by many names by many people. Hehe. Re: Has this game created a monster?
Which gets me thinking... one view holds that the "drug of choice" is the occasion and the person the cause the other view holds the inverse relationship... freedom vs. fate, fated to be free, free to be fated, free to be free, or fated to be fated...age-old discussion... |
