If you want max damage in a BG then there is no other real option than affliction. if you click my talent spec next to my name you will see what i have points in at level 48. this easy surpases the damage of nearly all other classes in battle grounds, except maybe shadow priests.

Oh and webbey18, we don't judge someone's knowledge by their level here.

Re: Need Help With DPS Speck (Want Insane Dps)

Well webby it reaaalli depends on your playing type.

If you like insane but slow dps, affliction is your spec.Affliction gives you a max amt of 5 dots, which are extremely painful. IF you choose this spec, be sure to stock up on +damage and +stam gear.

If you like insance burst dps, destruction is your spec.Destruction gives you SB n Conflag, which for me usually crits between 1000-1500. ( Im this spec). IF you choose this spec, be sure to stock up on +crit rating and more +int coz your mana goes down quite fast.

If your talent reset aint tht expensive (mine's at 50g) you can build both specs and try them out one at a time.

Re: Need Help With DPS Speck (Want Insane Dps)

yes, dc is handy, but it doesnt last that long. if they get in range again you wont have time to cast a fear, and if they are an undead rogue they probably havent used their Will of the Forsaken yet. IHoT is nice to gain a little distance. and since you didnt actually tell us what faction you where, that cant come back and bite me in the ass :P

Re: Need Help With DPS Speck (Want Insane Dps)

As other posters have mentioned there isnt one 'insane dps' build (otherwise everyone would be specced like that). Different builds give differing damage outputs: Destruction can give very good burst damage, Affliction gives less burst damage but far greater sustained DPS over a given period.

Also, I'd like to point out that having a high DPS build doesnt necessarily make you automatically good at PVP.
Only experience and familiarity with your class will make you that.

As Ossus said, try a couple different builds and see what you like. Over the course of 70 levels Ive tried variations on all 3 and found some to be better than others in certain circumstances and poor in others.

True, PvP is very different at all levels, but how do you know that's his one and only character?

As already said, there is no single awesome/insane/uber spec for PvP, otherwise everyone would be it and there would be no need for the "what do you think of this build" type threads. Affliction, Demonology or Destruction... all excellent in the right hands.

That said, it's also been mentioned numerous times on this forum that you must play with a spec you are comfortable with, a spec that suits your playstyle and a spec you know. Otherwise you can just mash your face against the keyboard.

Quoted for absolute truth.
