What is SL/SL?
Sorry---babylock here. I've seen this abreviation in a lot of places but remain unenlightened as to what it all means. What do the two sl's stand for (I did figure out that it's a certain build)? What are the advantages of speccing this way and why would I?  warlocks are very complicated..... |

SL/SL stands for a spec that includes Siphon Life from the affliction tree and Soul Link from the Demonology tree. It is considered a strong farming/PvP spec since it is based on healing yourself, mitigating some of the damage you are taking to your pet, while at the same time doing damage to your current foe. |

its refered to as a drain tank spec also.. almost OP in arenas.. basically your best duo partner is a resto druid.. with reslience and stam gear and soul link spec you can stand and get beat on and migrate a lot of damage. with the fel concentration talent you can channel through melee attacks and the resistances from the felhunter migrate a lot of caster dps on you as well.. you focus on the healer (in a heal/dps team) and you drain their mana.. if their dps is on you, your healer is free to heal you, if the dps is chasing a druid around you are free to drain the healer mana to OOM.. very fun, me and my partner juist started.. i waited to get a 2 piece T5 set before diving into the 2v2 arenas.. |

Thank you! So when I hit 70 and go to arenas for better gear you all suggest a switch to this type of build? And before arenas I'm thinking I should be dabbling in the BGs....if my heart can take it---PVP sends it racing  (thanks Nreekay for the partner suggestion!) |

Utility for what? 5/5 Suppression is only needed in a Affliction PvE build with really low spell hit. Since you don't have iSB or Bane, by default this is not a PvE build. For PvP, you're missing Soul Siphon and 1/5 SE. For grinding, you're missing Fel Concentration. Let us know what kind of utility you're looking for, and I'd be happy to recommend something. |

i am still looking for something that will handle well (not necessarily great) in 3 area's .... Solo Farming 5-Man Dungeons (non-raid/non-heroic) Arena PvP I had heard through a previous post that SiLi/SL was the way to go. I have previously been 46/15/0 and 41/10/10 and 43/7/11 --- all three were very good at 5-man and solo PvE --- but i found myself getting dominated in Arena PvP. I am very .... very unfamiliar with any tree other than Affliction and my gear leaves something to be desired. |

For the type of multi-tasking you mention I like 7/43/11 - check my armory link - decent DPS with decent survivability. I went back to 43/7/11 last week and felt a little naked without my trusty Feltard. Although, for the moment I have backed off of arena. However, the Felgaurd spec got me to a high rating of 1600 in 2v2 using Frozen Shadow Weave (not pvp gear at all). Not great, but doable up to a point.
