I spend most of my time solo questing as well but let my son drag me into heroics and raids occasionally. If all I was going to do was quest, I would go back to the high survivability of SL/FG (30/41/0) but I find that FG/Emb (0/41/30) is a decent compromise capable of respectable DPS.
Oh, well spotted with the Demonic Pact.

I guess I shouldnt be playing around with talents at 4 in the night.

I changed it around a bit and dropped the points into Improved Demonic Tatics (3), Soul Siphon (2) and the last into Improved Life Tap.

I do this for less downtime for mana and health and for more survivability if things heat up.

My build might not be that crazy a thing, or are you just gathering more people with pitchforks and torches before you run me out of here? ;)

I have started playing around with a spec I think would fit me and am curious as to what you guys think about it. Bear in mind, that I do NOT Raid, PVP nor do I do instances. I ONLY PVE in my own, and occasionally, a few other people company, when a quest requires it.

Alright im going to Grab my Pitchfork!

Not really but hey it sounded good. If you are maily just throwing dots and letting the FG do all the work Take the 8 points outta destro and throw them into Affliction to get SL. I was never a Affliction player and never thought that i would. But i heard about that 30/41 SL FG spec and gave it a try it was honestly the best lvling spec that i have ever used.(BTW I think that I was somewhere around 26/45 or something to that nature when i was hit 80 only 21/41 really matter) I was actualy upset when i hit 80 knowing that my firends would want me in on heroics and raids so i had to spec outta it due to the lower single target dps. SL is a great Affliction spell and really really helps out alot. When solo even if you are not lvling. I would say give that type of paly style a few days though it takes a bit of time trying to get used to running around dotting up 5 mobs and having a train of them behind you but it ends up being a whole lot of fun with almost no downtime and tons of farming fun.

The feedback here is great, it really is.

I've changed it around, based on your comments and actually like it even more now.

It ended up like this:

Re: Felgaurd/Destruction Build

interestingly enough this style should likely be even easier now with the corrupt/SL drop on a single cast
likely still need level 71 to get SL + FG to run with it

Re: Felgaurd/Destruction Build

At 80 i went 0/41/30 this build is strange but then again i have some ok gear. I emphasize Hi Crit but i still need Chance to hit for raids.. My crit % is at 29% and with Sara's Star triggered it jumps to 32% Plus I have The Sundial trinket from Dalaran for casters which when triggered my spell power jumps to t 2K. 3 points in destruction went to 10% searing pain crit-Why? That crit from searing pain triggers my trinkets almost everytime plus the my glyph that gives 20% more damage to searing pain helps so you may have to play around with your points pending your gear situation. I put points into nether protection (3) while only 1 to incinerate and 1 to improving all fire spells. It works for me-But regular 2k to 6k crits does wonders in PVP and as soft as we are we need them. For for all the other locks out there its different due to playing style and gear. Believe me I judge players on how fast they kill me- Blizzard as of this writing has done nothing to improve the warlock situation yet-(HINT make Feguard a regular pet and have 3 schools for locks-Fire-Shadow-Affliction-work in the goodies from Demonlogy) Raid specc? AGAIN GEAR...GEAR..GEAR..Now with Felguard doing his thing i finaly have a chance in PVP to do damage quickly. DKs and Pallys and Warriors and anything stealth destroy clothees fast so now I have a chance against them and have won here and there... lol Without goggles for the stealth Its still an ugly scene lol... Good luck
