A good tank should be able to build higher TPS on offtank mobs than UA/Corr or Corr/Curse of Agony. I wouldn't use immolate or more than the two dots though. Even if it's a non-heroic instance because you'll gimp your damage wasting time off the main target. If it's a paladin tank, you can certainly dot up all the mobs; and if there are more than two in the pack, spam SoC. |

I've been a long time admirer of this fine website. I've used it to help groom my lock to the person she is today, and purely the favorite of my toons. this has been a great discussion on why one should spec certain ways. My lock has basiclly been destruction since her inception shortly after beta. I know destro inside and out, i love it, and know what i can do with it. Is my gear t5/t6 nope. do i spam shadowbolt, not really, when my account was active did i remain on the top of the dps charts, pretty much. I've seriously tried affy, and it just wasn't for me. I highly depend on shadowburn, it's saved raids more than once, and I've used it to kill that boss off when we were at 1% and i was the only one left alive. I would like to say one thing, For a moderator to call a group of people idiots, because all of their gear isn't up to spec for a certain build is beyond my comprehension. To say we don't know our class or our role isn't always true. For some of us it comes down to play style. The guild i was in was on t5/t6 content, and they didn't have a problem with my build, However i will say,that our CL, was affy and the two of us more often than not raided together, and we balanced each other out. |
