[Old] Best Builds - you heard them here first!
Assuming no major changes. Pre Wrath of the Lich King (but once 3.0 comes out) Level 70 and 61 talent points: Imp Spec Destro Notes: Shadowfury isn't needed but I just picked it up for aoe fun. I had a shammy, fire mage in my group with no boomkin on Dr. Boom and had some +3000 dps parses. Crit was over 55%. |

Well rotation is still up for debate in terms of dots. Based on my haste: #1 Let imp loose with Fireballs #2 Corruption and Agony or CoE dep (to proc molten core) <--- not sure of dots yet Main spell rotation with my haste was: Immolate Incinerate Incinerate Incinerate Incinerate Incinerate Conflag Chaos Bolt (Rank 2 Chaos bolt for now - Rank 4 @ 80) END Start with immolate again. NOT sure how the dots play into it and tried with and without dots - seemed that having the dots in the beggining made a difference which shocked me a bit. Anyways I tried pretty much every spec and this one for me seems the most powerfull. I was hoping to get others playing around with it to verify that. GRANTED this is very random generator driven - needing alot of crits. So Stacking a ele shammy and boomkin make this spec huge. |

Did boom live long enough to sustain that type of damage? I tried to test on him but found that a 40 second fight wasn't long enough to even go OOM. What rotation did you use with backdraft? Did you keep up curruption or use the SBx3 after conflag to proc MC? I did some testing on the PTR with F&B and found that it almost double the scaling with your +damage gear by rasing the coefficient of the DD portion from 20% to 35%, however has little to no effect on the dot portion (which it should.. its broken.) Honestly backdraft still doesnt apeal to me. The added complexity in a rotation (and added room for human error) doesnt seem worth the turn over. Now that CB is effected by ISB, the backdraft sbx3 isnt sounding so bad though. I have done little testing in terms of rotation (specially since I dont have a working dot timer yet) but was experimenting a bit with casting SB on Emp imp procs to keep ISB up with decent success(Sb held 65% crit rate), however timing was dificult and took a ton of attention. I think that 2/2 on the imp casting may be wasted points, my imp went OOM retarded fast with the new soul leech..as well as double procs that got wasted... how does it hold out with raid buffs? Mana was fine with improved soul leach, without it I was oom in 45 seconds. |

Sad to say that I think 20% to corruption and the last tick of Immo (once F&B is fixed) will offset the gains of 3 hasted spells. I just cant get around burning all that extra mana to make up lost damage with backdraft. The change to soul leech mana return kinda kiled backdraft IMO. Emp imp procs on conflag? wasted I'll be running some tests with this spec tonight before/after raid to see how it works. |

destro/imp So far this is the best rotation i've came up with for raids, 1st coe rotation: cor, immo, inc x 5, conflag, ''backdraft'', refresh I've tried Demonic power 0/2 - 1/2 - 2/2 for farming 2/2 is fine, for raids its a waste of points as imp goes out of mana real fast. Its a complex rotation cause to not loose any dps Cor & immo both have to be up all the time, I have not try in a mobile fight yet Quick question: fire and brimstone 5/5 vs demonic Aegis 3/3, which one should i go 1st at level 70? |

I must admit i have a hard time understanding what Soulzar says lol. I know its my fault but all those SB, CB, ISB, MC, OOM, F&B, DD, etc, make my head hurt. Only reason i see for Backdraft not being an appealing talent, is if you use a macro cast sequence for the number of incinerates you wanna cast. Once we use dot timers, i think will be an interesting talent (it does allow for 4 nukes to be casted where previously only 3 fit). Anyway, in terms of rotation, i think the rotation Desperation pointed out is pretty much conventional. I tried it with a small twist (Corruption, Immolate, Chaos Bolt, Incinerate and Conflagrate. Restart) and seams to me is the one best results. Honestly i havent tried a destruction spec with shadow spells (No dots, old fashion shadow bolt and chaos bolt when is up, keeping iSB up), but ill try that. As for Demonic Power, i too agree that the Imp runs out of mana fast. Coming to agree with Soulzar when he says is wasted talent points. PS: without any raid buffs or anything else, the specs ive tried game me the highest damage on a demonology spec with just shadowbolt spam. With raid buffs and synergies, this might be proved wrong. Ah, I think we're seeing a very settled rotation with the possible variable being either ISB x 3 after Conflag or Immo/Inc x 2, as well as the inclusion of the imp (or not).
