Should I respec to Demon while questing for epic mount money @ level 70?

I'll be hitting 70 later this week, having leveled as affliction the entire time. I've been told by several guildmate warlocks that questing with felguard makes things way easier and also allows you to solo some of the group quests. I will have a TON of quests left once I hit 70. I will be hitting 70 in Nagrand, so I will have all of SMV, BBE, and Netherstorm left to quest.

I've also been kinda curious as to how powerful the felguard is. Keep in mind I have been affliction for 70 levels! Anyway, do you guys suggest using the felguard for questing or should I just stick to good old affliction? I will also be running some instances and farming mats for my Frozen Shadoweave.

I leveled with full affliction, then switched over to felguard because I heard the same thing. It was actually really fun with a felguard and questing was much much easier because the felguard could tank, while i put dots up and just healed him (watching to not get aggro). You can do almost all the elite quests solo if they are 2 or 3 man quests.

I would suggest though that you get 3/3 mana feed though, because that felguard was ALWAYS out of mana it seemed. Not sure why, but it was a pain waiting for him to get mana back without that talent.

You can also do battlegrounds pretty well with a felguard, they do enough damage to make them slightly over annoying but not quite lethal on their own.

Felguard is a freaking amazing pet. Especially if you do the Demonic Tactics of 5/5 or 4/5 and demonic Resiliance 3/3. Mana Feed 2/3 is also essential. Holds agro, Intercept with instant stun on every monster. Have him chase around people in battlegrounds its hallarious.

I've been doing affliction til level 60,then switched over to demonology for leveling. Yes, the felguard is great at tanking and holds aggro really well.So if your going to farm and do instances,then yes go demo.

I switched to Felguard around late 50's for the same reason. He is fabulous for doing quests, grinding, and farming. The Mana Feed is a must!

When I hit 70 I respecced back to Affliction because I thought it'd be better... that same night I went back to my Felguard... i missed ol' Flaaroon too much to continue on without him! The stamina and spell damage increases are notable, too, at least for me.

I was a demonologist from around 50 on up to 70 and switched to affliction just for the easier farming ability that I seem to have w/ that spec. But I have to agree with the above in saying that felguards are awesome as tanks. Even in some of the lower Blood Furnace instances he was a good off tank and some times.

i changed 2 demonology as soon as i was able 2 get felguard and it has gone a lot faster 2 level and quest with him so i recommend it

If you've never specced full demo, you should at least try it. You should try out a destro build at some point too.

I'm kinda reluctant/nervous to switch to demo since I've been affliction for so long. What build would you guys suggest for a crappy geared 70? Keep in mind I'm in quest greens/blues and only have about +500 spell damage.

I must admit I tried the felguard, switching from full affliction to demo spec and found it wasn't for me, but have to honestly admit it was pretty fun while I had him as a pet. It's just the playstyle didn't really suit me, as I'm to fond of the afflic spec. Guess i was lost without my imp giving me crap at my side lol
