Talent Spec: 0/41/30
[Raiding] Considering a 21/0/40 build for raiding and questing

Character Name: Barkle
Armory Profile: Barkle on Rexxar
Current build link:
(standard 0/21/40 DS/SnF) http://wowhead.com/?talent=IZcxczIbzZEx0tr0khhi

Proposed build link:
(21/0/40 SL/SnF) http://wowhead.com/?talent=IVMrdRczZZEx0tr0khhi

PvE Play style and Requirements of build:

Primarily a raider. Guild is currently 5/6 in SSC and 3/4 in TK. I like to be able to farm a little, and have the flexibility to do some PvP. Doing a lot of dailies for cash, but even dailies involve killing stuff.

PvP Play style and Requirements of build:

Casual PvPer. Just not that crazy about it. I enjoy Battlegrounds sometimes, and have done some arena. I considered it a victory when my personal rating broke 1500.

Why go away from 0/21/40?
Because the 21 points in destruction feels like a waste.
What do I get?
Demonic Sacrifice: This is what this build is all about, boosting my shadow damage by 15% when I sacrifice the succy. But is it worth it? 21 points for that?
Demonic Aegis: Nice. A little boost to spell damage and to healing received. But we can live without it.
Demonic Embrace, Fel Stamina, Fel Intellect: 15% stam, 3% health, 3% mana. Nice, but hardly necessary.
Why consider 21/0/40?
What do I get?
Siphon Life:
Figure about 225 a tick health returned. The damage to the mob don't hurt, but its really about the health returns. There is so much raid damage being flung about in most raids, and the need to life tap, that having a little regen is really nice. Approximately an extra SB worth of mana every 5 seconds.
Imp Corruption & Empowered Corruption: Instant and improved. Figure 600 a tick. Don't use corruption all the time now because it has a cast time. If I am going to be standing still casting, its better spent on SB.
Amp Curse: Situational, but always nice to have an amped Doom hit.
Grim Reach: Better range for Affliction is good. Hate having to run forward to throw up a curse.
Imp Life Tap: Nice to have, but not critical.
Really, this build boils down to two things: instant corruption and siphon life. The big question is, will those two offset the 15% loss from the DS succy? Probably not, but by how much? Will the sustainability of the build offset that?

I'm not a big fan of using spreadsheets for answers to live questions. I'm not interested in a pure numbers theoretical discussion of if this will out DPS that. I don't think it will.

Has anyone tried this build in a raiding environment recently?
How did its DPS compare to the "accepted" raiding builds?
If I can get within say 5% of the full destro build's DPS, it might be worth it to try out. I guess I am going to have to respec and try it out to see how it works, but I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has tried it out.
