[General] Just looking for a general critique.
Character Name: Peligrosa
Armory Profile: The World of Warcraft Armory Wowhead link of current build in use: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft Wowhead link of proposed build: None really just looking for imput and ideas, not wanting a drastic change. PvE Play style and Requirements of build: I run heroics and Kara, along with quests for gold and farming PvP Play style and Requirements of build: Don't really pvp other then the occasional world pvp which is few and far between. Additional Comments: I was just wanting advice on possible tweaks to this build like a talent to pick up/drop and reason you feel this way. I use my VW when questing/farming and my imp in raids/heroics. I set in the top 2-3 usually overall in heroics (not great on trash but when it comes to bosses I am #1 quite a bit due to my avid use of Amp CoD), and with Kara usually top 4. Really I am just wanting to see if I overlooked something. I like the non-stop grinding in pve that the affliction affords me with IDL and SL paired up with ImpTap. The ImpImp and ImpHS are primarily for use in group settings same with DP (gotta love an Imp with BoW on for your personal mana battery). I just have went over and over this and can't find much wrong with it for now so I figured I would see what others could find wrong. As for gear slowly working on that now. I am working on getting my badge gear first then upgrade as I go with either drops or crafted things such as spellstrike helm. TY Peli |

Your talent build doesn't really make much sense to me. You've got like, talents in the affliction tree which would be of benefit to raid utility, yet you don't have the talents in the destruction tree which would also benefit your dps. If you're going to make it a raid utility build you may as well spec for a decent raid/heroic dps build too.
Affliction build thread Hmmm, what to comment on. Drop the points in suppression. Why have you got 5/5 in suppression when you've already got 130 hit? You've wasted at least 2 talent points there. Max you need is 3 points in there. And that's pretty much only for bosses in karazhan. If the majority of what you're doing is heroics I would actually say you don't even need more than one point in there. That's 4 extra points you could drop from the affliction tree to put in the destruction tree. I think it's pretty safe to say you should be dropping almost all of your points in demonology and putting them into improved shadowbolt -> bane -> shadowburn at least. The extra 30 damage from demonic aegis is negligible compared to the damage from bane -> shadowbolt casting. Shadowbolt even at lower levels of raiding and also in heroics makes up a very large proportion of your damage. How are you doing your damage? Are you using immolate too? Quite a lot of newer warlocks who i've seen play seem to adopt one style of damage dealing and one style only - that is, put your dots up on the target and drain, drain, drain. You should be using shadowbolt in conjunction with your dots. Also the other thing that doesn't make sense to me is the fact that you've got 3 points in malediction, yet you're using curse of doom on the majority of bosses. Heroic wise I would actually say you don't need malediction. Put them in improved howl of terror. HoT gets you out of "oh shit" moments in heroics, and also can be used to help you farm more effectively too. Use curse of shadows. You've got talents to improve it - why not use it in a raid environment? Get into the habit of using it even if you're the only warlock around. The utility curses are always your friends. Warlock and two mages? Curse of elements. Two warlocks? Curse of Shadows. A warlock and a shadowpriest? Curse of shadows. |

Re: [General] Just looking for a general critique.
I constantly use both CoS and CoD on a regular basis. I use CoS quite a bit when soloing to the point that I only use Curse of Agony when I am jumped and then I have a macro that pairs it with AmpCurse. The reason I chose the demo tree over the points in Destro is the fact that I am the loc in the tanks group and constantly keep out my imp, also I am the one who is the soulwell loc which is the reason for 2/2 IHS. I use shadowbolt quite a bit but I must be lucky in that Nightfall constantly procs to the point is more like a 50% proc rate vs a 4%. Really not caring if I am personally #1 on dps in that the fact I still am rather high up on the charts and I was trying to lean more towards raid support then being a glass cannon.
I do use immolation but not 100%. It depends on the mob on which dots I put up, boss fights that are really long I open with AmpCoD then go straight into CoS when it blows if its not a very long fight I stick strictly with CoS depending on party set up as in if I am the only shadow/arcane user then I will use CoD or CoE. *edit*Also thank you Theleb for moving I appologize for putting in the wrong forum I did not realize that this was also a section at the time and not just another post.
