raiding demo/and destruction- only lock in raid

Hi Guys,

This is my first post but have been reading this website for about a year.

Firstly, i have been a lock for 2 years now, we are raiding SSC/TK alternatively each week and i am the only lock in the raid.

I have tried every spec with different gear- for the last few weeks i have been raiding demo and its good fun - i am also the Leo tank and strider kiter. Some fight's i am right up there on the DPS and others not so - due to the situation fight i guess where thootum is gimped.

Last week i specced destro in TK (21/40) and on Alar i was- for the first time- ahead on everyone in damage , im just not sure which is more viable though destro or demo...i asked my guild whether they want me to go affliction since i am the only lock and they dont mind so no issue with demands etc...

my question is this: is my current gear acceptable for Destruction >? i know i could replace some gems on my robe for + damage etc but does anyone have any suggestions on what else i should do? I dont know any other locks i can talk to about it

Is anything lacking with my gear? I know i have the t5 set bonus and as destruction is useless but the gloves and pants still give me nice stats , i have other gear ( all the T4) and triail fire trousers etc but this seems to be the best i have..any suggestions would be welcome,

Your gear is base and fine for Destro, but for SSC/TK I found that even if able to be destruction, demo is MUCH more versatile. This is my playstyle however.

Kiting striders as destruction SUCKS been there and it was bad cause you have to stand and cast searing pain. As far as the tanking Leo, again destro is good for agro, meh for survivability depending on your healers of course.

If you like one stick with it, but I would suggest your guild find some other locks, there's a lot that we bring to the raid.
