[Raiding] Current 40/0/21 thinking of 31/9/21

PvE Play style and Requirements of build:

Current working towards SSC / TK, have completed Kara, Mag and Gruuls. Have some T4 gear missing a few items.

PvP Play style and Requirements of build:

I did a fair amoutn of Battleground when I hit 70 to get a few items to help me in Kara and with progression, have not done much lately. Looking to maybe do some more to replace the blues I have, though I could badge farm just the same.

Additional Comments:

Just wondering if it is worth it for me to make the change, is my gear / stats up for it? or should I stay affl until full T4 etc..

Its a bad choice to go 31/9/21.

1. Your not hit capped.

2. Your crit is too low to make Ruin more valuable than UA.

41/0/20 would be better dps for you

3. Haste is not worth stacking if you have a low hit

4. Stamina gems do nothing for your dps and should be replaced with hit gems

Now if you got hit capped and had more crit then a DP/Ruin build would certainly be viable.

For the time being I would respec UA and pick up suppression so you at least have the hit cap on your dots. Once you have enough hit and crit for 31/9/21 you will also be able to support the traditional 21/40 destro build so maybe you should try it once you get there.

looking at WoW Gem Finder: Increases Hit Rating does not list any +hit gems for a blue socket. Any input on replacing the +stamd with +hit for blue sockets would be appreciated

+8 spell hit gems for blue sockets. Socket color really doesn't matter until you're gemming T5+ gear, as the socket bonuses suck.

Oli, your link goes to +hit melee gems. Check out +spell hit gems. There is a gem called Vivid Chrysoprase from heroic slave pens that is green (fits a blue slot) and has +spell hit.

I haven't looked at your gear, but if you really want to keep socket bonuses while adding + spell hit, you can always fill blue slots with Glowing Nightseye (+spell damage and stam), yellow sockets with pure +spell hit (Great Dawnstone), and reds with Veiled Noble Topaz (+spell hit and +spell damage).

OK, going to sound like a complete nub now ;) Was not aware that I could socket gems that were not meant for that color. IE: socketing a red into a blue etc.

I'll go back and pick up some +spell hit gems and re-socket my blues slots with exception to Signet of Ancient Magics - Item - World of Warcraft which has Charmed Amani Jewel - Item - World of Warcraft

First things first, like everyone else said, regem for hit and start stacking that. Ok, now on to the build stuff.

For raiding Warlocks there's basically two paths to go down, straight up DPS or utility. If you're aiming for pure DPS, then you should just spec 0/21/40 right now and be done with it

The other path you can go down is utility, and this brings us to the Affliction tree. If you're aiming for utility, the number one talent for you is Malediction. For most raids, the first Warlock in the raid should probably have maxed Malediction. All of the other Warlocks after that might as well just go 0/21/40 if you want the raid min/maxed.
