Hows this for a crazy arena build?
Just trying to think of different things besides the usual "SL/SL" spec that might make the arena more enjoyable...

Re: Hows this for a crazy arena build?
meh, I dunno. I suppose in a BG you could have some fun with it but I would have to say it is not viable as an arena spec. You lack the survivability that soul link gives you, even though you might have improved DPS with the destro talents. If partnered with a healing class I am sure you could toy with it and likely win a few games, but if you are talking serious arena.....
![]() That said...go for it, have fun and see what you can do with it. Then report back and let us know...heck, you might hit on the next great thing! |

Re: Hows this for a crazy arena build?
Soul Leech really isn't enough help to replace a soul link on an hp pet..
Soul Leech - The Warlocks Den Forums A 0/41/20 or 0/40/21 would be a new playing style, and depending on who else is on your arena team, and depending on the team rating, it's very possible that better burst damage would make up for losing another instant dot-heal. |

Re: Hows this for a crazy arena build?
It is always great to try new things out. However, your build is not too optimal in the sense that you have a lot of 1 pt investment, which kinda means you might as well not have them due to the low %.
Try this: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=Iq0rmRdkoZ0LZxx0tr0tuu One pt in Afermath, and one pt in Soul leech is not useful. On the other hand, you would want 3/3 Backlash for sure. Getting Curse of exhaustion is also vital in helping you kite. This spec is a lot of fun, you have ( I think) the most abilities or buttons to press. Unfortunately, this spec is underpowered on the raw stats aspects. You don't have Soul Link for survivability, but that is relatively a minor issue. The problem is that because of all the tricks you have with this build, you will be missing the damage scaling abilities like Shadow & Flame, Shadow Master, Emberstorm. So the damage is also relatively low. You will have a good amount of potential burst in Nightfall, backlash, shadowburn, conflagrate and deathcoil. I think you also need good gear to make it worthwhile, because the investment is heavily into talent pts which give abilities. Please see discussion on this spec and its variant: New arena build 22/5/34 !? |

Re: Hows this for a crazy arena build?
The nightfall/backlash build is a rare one, simply because it's only use is reactive situational damage (aka you need to get beat on to do anything)
If you where to stick with that, you want to max out backlash at least to make it viable. |

Re: Hows this for a crazy arena build?
I use this build and love it. My only thing is to make it more like this. I have been using it for about 2 months now. I got bored of trying everything else.
