Sl/sl anti-rogue build?

Hey there,

I kinda detailed this in another one of my threads, and was not able to go indepth for fear of it getting denied so im posting it here

. To save time i'll briefly summarize what the issue is...

ROGUES

Main spec: 27/34/0
2v2 comp: shadowpriest + sl/sl warlock [currently 1705]
Armory link: The World of Warcraft Armory

Now that that's out of the way... this is what i was thinking

At almost 1.3k spelldmg I can afford to lose some of it so i took points out of demonic knowledge
since skilled rogues can't be kited, why not use a combination of kiting and drain-tanking and voidwalker sacrifice.
Also, with my team composition we pretty much destroy any non-rogue team so why not revise my build around what gives me trouble?

Result: (30/31/0) Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

With this build, i'm forced to rely on drain life to make up for the lost dps, but hopefully have increased survivability vs. rogues.

- I chose to put my remaining 2 points in shadow mastery rather than demonic knowledge because I read on wowwiki that drain life has a penalty so it uses only half of your spelldmg. Additionally, shadowembrace adds another affliction effect to increase drainlife's dps.
With fel concentration and improved voidwalker bubble, I will stand more of a chance against rogues, especially with a macro such as...
- demon armor, fel domination, summon voidwalker, sacrifice voidwalker // shift: soul link
- ^^ this way i can quickly get a bubble FAST to hopefully stop spell pushback and catch them offguard before they kick. ALSO I would have my felpuppy out until it's 1v1 (so no calling me a noob plz)
While definatly not 27/34 or another cookie-cutter variation, I'm hoping (fingers crossed!!!) that i'll be able to at least kill a rogue when they're at 60% health and im at 100%

I'll keep you guys updated on whether or not it's successful or not.

Suggestions always appreciated and I tried to follow the protocol... Sorry if I messed it up a bit.

Build depend on your team mate, I think you have a lot of wasted talents but your healer is good and prob helps to keep rouges off which is what counts. Healer with CC are the biggest win in 2v2

You mind telling me which points are wasted so I can make an attempt to improve it?

If you're really going for anti-rogue you might want to consider imp CoW. It's a very underused curse, but it can really come in handy when soloing a rogue or warrior. I also generally put it on hunter pets. That might be more useful to you than imp Curse of Agony. Just judge which would benefit your team and play style more.

The only other things would be no mana feed and no demonic resilience. Of course if your gear is good enough you don't really need demo res, but 1 point in mana feed is certainly nice for the longer fights with your felhunter out.

30/31 is actually growing in popularity on arenajunkies.com because of the added dps.
And those are mostly higher rated 2s and 3s. I'm paired with a restro druid in my 2s and a rogue/disc priest in 3s and have been going with a 23/38 build for a while. Now that my gear is improving I will likely be dropping points from demonic resilience and move them to empowered corruption. I'm still undecided on the DK vs. SM though.

Hmm... to tell you the truth, putting points into improved CoW never crossed my mind; i'll do some math and work with it a bit. Also, I never really thought my spec would be viable (heck, i didn't even know existed). I had started to do the math between dk vs. sm, but got too lazy... when i get home tomorrow i'll look for a research paper on it (someone's bound to have figured that out by now).
