Decent Leveling / PVP Build 42/12/0 for a 63?

Leveling / PVP Build

Character Name:
SylentNyte

Armory Profile:
The World of Warcraft Armory

Wowhead link of current build in use:

PvP Play style and Requirements of build:
I play on a active PVP server, so there is quite a bit of PVP mixed in with leveling.

My play style is basic.

1. Send in my pet
2. Curse of Agony
3. Corruption
4. Drain Life
5. Soul Drain - Wand - Shadowbolt - Depends on mobs health

This simple way has worked for me for many levels, but I am now level 63 and have a lot of spells and skills, I don't use. I was wanting help to make sure I am using my Lock to its best ability. Any help or suggestions you may have on my build, armor, or even playing style, I would appreciate very much.

Thank You in Advice

Re: Decent Leveling / PVP Build 42/12/0 for a 63?

I run a build very similar to yours, but w/ my extra 12 points are in Demonology. This gives me plenty of stamina, I DP my pet or life tap when low, and SL to regen health. I run w/ a destro Lock and he is always drinking, while I am off to the next Mob. I can grind like mad, and knowing which curse to throw on whom is a big part of my casting. Also, Mana conservation is done by not tossing the full load of DOTs either.

I have adjusted my style by sending my pet in and tossing DOTs, then retarget DOT and add Curse of Agony if I think I am going to ignore it and move on. After I toss out a few spells I mana tap or DL, SB then SL to top off health. I can generally handle 2-3 mobs my level or slightly higher and end w/ a fairly high amount of health and mana. More than that I will have HOT/Fear and bandage or SL one Mob. Generally Mob#1 is dead and pet is picking up the slack. I will most likely have to pop a potion or HS, and/or do some eating and drinking once a big fight is done but I will survive.

In PVP I use my Imp on passive, drain his mana run and DOT run and DOT. Watch for defensive opportunities and HOT/fear when required. Occationally I will use the Felhound but I tend to get picked out quick. So the Imp works real well. The fat SB in the face tends to draw attention too so I try to finish off folks w/ the SB.

All of this really depends too on your spell damage too. In affliction the higher the better, toss Shadow Ward when fighting casters.

My Grind sequence goes like this: I will send in pet, toss applicable Curse (melee' vs caster), UA, SL, Corr, DP/LT, SB or Target lather/rinse w/ a DL tossed in to replenish health. The big thing is to not run low on mana or you are toast.

Due to the Voidwalker being a slow mana regenerator I favor the Felhound, but I will run the void if I need to generate a bit of aggro to pull off of me so I can throw DOTs.

Re: Decent Leveling / PVP Build 42/12/0 for a 63?

Personally I prefer the felguard. I have grinded for over an hour without stopping for food/water with my fg out. I have one point in mana feed to help my pet regen mana. Also very helpful in PvP with intercept stun. If you prefer to stick with affliction, don't bother with the vw in PvP. As for leveling, it is really a matter of personal preference. I looked at your armory profile, it appears you changed to a 44/0/10 build. Personally, I would not put the points into improved drain soul, rather I would put another point into improved life tap and put two more into improved curse of agony. Otherwise your spec is decent.
