Builds Warlocks are using now that 3.0 is live?
With all the build threads out there, and a gazillion Warlocks looking for assistance on which route to go, I thought it would be a good idea to create a single thread for all members to post what build they are currently trying and what they think about it to help. Post a reply with: Build: 00/00/00 Link: Wowhead link Awesome about the build: Info... Annoying about the build: Info... Overall feedback: Info... Hopefully this will help those completely unsure.

Re: Builds Warlocks are using now that 3.0 is live?
I have loved sl/sl. I think that I will try a new flavor of that with Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft I have had my first instance with the daily quest and have a bit to report. My dps went up by about 200. My health regen with the felhunter was astonishing. I was pretty much always at full health and mana no matter how fast I was casting. I will edit this as I get more info. Last edited by Vitriola; October 15, 2008 at 04:17 AM.. |

Re: Builds Warlocks are using now that 3.0 is live?
53/0/8 http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=Ifxr0zRAoViocstZA I realy wanted as many points into destro as i could get so i optimized a lot of the talents in affliction. I calculated and tested and it seems like every point that can be put in destro should be. I realy want an alternative to life tap but soul syphon is suboptimal as shadow bolts cant be beat for a filler spell. Once I hit 77 ill respec so i have soul syphon and fel concentration instead of supression and life tap because of damage boost for drain soul. but right now I believe this to be a strong raiding build. Wrong link fixed thanks kursez Last edited by halfdane; October 15, 2008 at 12:29 AM.. |

Re: Builds Warlocks are using now that 3.0 is live?
This is my build... it's meant to be a fun spec for BGs, 5 mans and kara... might also be good for BT and Hyjal as well... But I haven't tried it out yet due to the fact that the Taiwan servers update their servers to 3.0.2 on Thursday ![]() Build: 5/5/51 Link:Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft Awesome about the build: Incredible burst damage and some target control. Shadowfury and the occasional Pyroclasm proc stuns makes it easy to get distance and cast nukes on your enemies. Felhunter or succy (I prefer Felhunter) would be the pet of choice, for dispels and/or crowd control. Annoying about the build: You will be quite fragile without soul link (perhaps dropping Imp Corr and Chaos Bolt to pick it up?) in PVP encounters, and I also like to DOT up the target first while running so if I get cc-ed the dots are still ticking. Good for molton core procs too . be sure to bring a few netherweave nets to buy some distance between those annoying melee classes! Also, if you're crazy on Soul Fire usage like me, spamming this spell with a 30% shorten cast time (Backdraft) will eat up your shards like crazy. Overall Feedback: Since I like both PVE and PVP this build seems to suit my needs. Felhunter's silence and devour magic deal with casters and Backlash deals with melee... hehe, also this build (with a succy) can also solo some heroic mobs while the your group kill the other ones if you're a person who likes to show-off like me. Hope this helps. Do give me feedback as well if anyone of you try this spec. Have fun! |

Re: Builds Warlocks are using now that 3.0 is live?
This is the build i like the best. My dps on beta is sustained at about 1500 self buffed and on live it seems more like 1300 which is probably just a disparity between game builds and so forth. Build: 5/3/53 Link: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft Awesome about the build: Well you get to use more or less the same rotation as a level 80 destro spec since the remaining 10 talent points will get spent to hybridize into demo more I suppose. It does fairly good dps and is competitive with affliction for top dps build at 70 without the need to watch timers quit as attentatively. It isn't however as boring as shadowbolt spam. My rotation is corr>Curse of Agony>chaosbolt>immolate>incineratex6-7>chaosbolt>dot refreshing/lifetaping and repeat. Since chaosbolt is on a cooldown I try to get it on every cooldown so it progressively moves forward in the rotation. However, dots are of less priority then immo/incin/cb so they always get on at the end of the immolate cycle. Also, it is important to pay attention to the imp and stop him when he's oom so he can regen faster. Annoying about the build: Demonic Power, Intensity and Fire and Brimstone are all somewhat questionable filler talents now. DP seems to be more likely to cause overlap due to the RNG nature of Emp Imp. Intensity is of less value due to the changes in Spell Pushback so I would easily give it up and have considered tossing the points in these two talents into Aftermath and Shadowburn which are also both situational. As for F&B, its just filler but backlash and conflag seem to be a mana hog combo so there really isn't anything more useful to put in the tree to get Chaosbolt. Overall feedback: I find the rotation much better because it requires more than just 1 button spam so it's definitely a positive change in that regard and it isn't as unwieldy (imo) as the current affliction rotation which can have as many as 6 timers going. I'm really terrible at watching lots of timers. At level 80 affliction seems to be the best dps right now but changes are bound to occur between now and the expansion so who knows. As long as I'm not pidgeonholed into an affliction spec because it is soooo much better I'll be happy. I'd like to see several specs remain viable throughout progression rather than one spec being grossly better. |

Re: Builds Warlocks are using now that 3.0 is live?
Build: 07/00/54 Link: Wowhead link Awesome about the build: I did with this biuld 400 dps more than I did with the old 0/21/40. And shadowfury, wich I picked for fun is.. fun =) Annoying about the build: nothing annoying Overall feedback: I had a blast in BT, was beaten on dps by a ret pala, and I was no longer top on dps on trash, more like 4-5, but overall good. I had no manaissues at all, so the 2 points in imp life tap can easily be moved somewhere else. I used Agony, immo-incin and CB every time cooldown was up. And had imp nuking for the extra crit, mostly. My addons was all messed up, no dottimers and not buff/debuffbars. If played right it would probably be better. BUt its tested and working ![]() This is a raiding spec Last edited by Mahri; October 15, 2008 at 02:25 AM.. |

Re: Builds Warlocks are using now that 3.0 is live?
Build: 51/5/5 Link: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft Awesome about the build: I've done a lot of research on this build, looking at the usefulness of the felpuppy. I think that with SL and Haunt up all the time, there's no reason to worry about life tapping. So I picked up imp life tap, and ignored dark pact and imp felhunter. I also only put two points into Eradication, since everything I've read shows that more than two points isn't an overall benefit. At 2 points you get almost the max benefit from it, and the extra points are better used elsewhere. 1 point in Death's Embrace is just a filler to get down to EA and Haunt. I also took 5 points in Bane, since in the patch notes it said bane reduces the cast time on Haunt. The 3 points in Demonic Embrace could be put elsewhere, I'll toy around with it, but I figured with life tapping, the extra stam would be nice. Annoying about the build: Not enough points and still too much Affliction bloat Overall feedback: Let me know. This is for raiding at 70 for now Last edited by Addickt; October 15, 2008 at 02:04 AM.. |

Re: Builds Warlocks are using now that 3.0 is live?
Can I request an addition to the info on this thread? It would be helpful to know whether a build is primarily for raiding, pvp, leveling, arena, etc. And thanks to everyone who posts in this thread! Some of us love the details, and some of us want the big picture! ![]() Ali |
