post 3.0.2 Demo-meta build.
Hello everyone. I am in need of a good demo-meta build for PvP/PvE. I have been useing a 56/0/5 Aff build an its great but I wanna try meta out but I don't have the extra gold to try out different builds. I'm just a little confused due to the reworked demo tree.In pre 3.0 life I used a 7/43/11 Demo build for everything an just loved it. I'm bumping this because I have a similar question. I was also 7/43/11 before the patch and switched to 56/0/5 afterward. I am primarily doing bgs and dailies until it's time to start leveling again. I didn't like 56/0/5 for bgs because I feel like the dots take too long to be really useful in pvp. I don't have enough crit to go destro (yet!) so I specced back to demo last night. But I have a lot of questions about some of the new talents. Specifically, I am wondering about the usefulness of the following for bg pvp: Mana Feed, Demonic Knowledge, Demonic Resilience, Demonic Tactics/Improved Dem Tactics, Demonic Empathy, and Demonic Pact. Anyone have any insights to share? Thanks! |

Hey there Alifeyl. Sounds like we are in the same boat. lmao I feel your pain in PvP but I have the same problems in instances thanks to the 30% reduction. Its just stuff dies way to fast before my dots can do their job. I wish we could have a proc on one of our spells that made all of our dots on the target when it procs do all their damage in 1-2secs. This would have a pretty low chance of going off but a god send when it did. Any information(thoughts) you guys have please inform us. Thanks for your time. |

think this is prob one of the best dps builds, or one vry simmular. 51/0/10, you get 10% extra damage to all shadow with Imp sb, haste rating spell from affliction, makes your sbs super fast. thats alot of damage taking advantage of haste, for refreshing your UA and haunt in no time, leaving you spamming sbs at bosses. coupled with some haste rating gear. Utility of your DoT's depends from the over all damage your raid mates are capable to do. With reduced HP of all Bosses and new talents use of some of them is not mana effective. For that reason lot of build's we are using now will be useless or less effective while leveling and doing instances in Wrath of the Lich King. So just few things from experience ( in The Burning Crusade). I have to locks; alliance and horde one. Alliance is "older"; played him from the beginning and the horde one is "young". Alliance one has gear from MH, BT and here is the link: The World of Warcraft Armory From here you can check my talents and see that I stayed SB destro with improved imp and some affliction talents. My DPS in BT (because I use Curse of Agony and corruption usually as the start followed by SB only) has dropped I can say almost double if I compare it with old, pre expansion build ( 0/21/ 40). Surprisingly my damage is as high (even higher) as before. When I drop DoT's and use only SB DPS rises but damage goes down Horde one, some Kara gear and crafted items, badges  The World of Warcraft Armory Affliction with "touch" of Destro ; filler SB. This one is herbalist and the easyer way to get herbs; some of them, is farming Talonsworn Forest- Rager Talonsworn Forest-Rager - NPC - World of Warcraft.Killing him with this spec. is much, much faster and without any mana issues. It's done only with DoT's and ocasonally SB if Nightfall or Corr glyph proc. Normally VW tank is on passive. Just DoT and Fear. Had only once chance to test this build in Maggy raid and with this gear was doing better damage then some of the locks in my guild who have high end badge gear; Tormented demonsoul, ZA gear. Conclusion. Leveling and instance raiding in Wrath of the Lich King will be easiest and fastest with full affliction build. PvP is other metter and as I don't do it and have no experience about it cannot sugest any build about it. |
