Re: Redmage's Wotlk Leveling program and talent specs suggestions

I have already tried full demo, heavy affliction and 0/14+2/47 specs.
Yet something is missing that I can not figure out. I am thinking of a spec like this adding emberstorm and imp immo points 72 to 80

0/41/30

Do you have a nice leveling built?

Btw if you haven't done yet, do NOT spec affliction before completing Fizzcrank Airstrip area. All the machines immune to life spells and it ruins the spell rotation.

Re: Redmage's Wotlk Leveling program and talent specs suggestions

Sorry for the late reply, was out of town.

I am doing this Meta/Destro stage of the build right now.

For regular mobs, I usually do this. I cast a Shadowbolt to start, and immediately cast an immolate. The moment i cast immolate, I send my felguard to intercept, I will turn cast my corruptio and curse of agony. Usually, My felguard will have aggro now, I can then finish the mob with a searing pain or just wait for the dots to tick.

For a more mana efficient, but slightly slower method, I just send in my Felguard, immolate, corruption, Curse of Agony. I can searing pain or drain soul to finish. Usually, during the middle of the fight, I will send in the Felguard to a second mob and repeat. This is a steadier gridning method, still pretty fast.

I think you should definitely not rely on the felguard to do everything. Sure, he can kill an equal level mob by himself, but it will be slow, and you will be wasting the benefits of the deep demo talents like Demonic Empathy, Demonic Pact, and Fel Synergy.

Overall, demo leveling has proved to be very efficient, and I guess since i am overgeared, exceptionally easy at this point. I did not need to eat/drink at all. Metamorphosis so far is more of an icing and I have not needed to use it at all.

When soloing, Meta is an 'Oh shit' ability, when you get lots of adds and want to aoe them just pop meta, immolate and seed/rain of fire at will. Immolate gives about 10k damage over 13-14 seconds and you can probably survive that long. Especially with rain of fire giving even more damage. Just don't try and use it on blood worms, they are immune to AOE and even to Felguard cleave. Learned the hard way :(

Otherwise..... anything that is tough enough to kill Felguard will not have many problems killing me even with Meta armour bonus.

In raids and instances it is just another trinket.

Overall, as was said, if you want to regain mana/health dot and let FG take care of the mob, if you are ok then immo-corr-lifetap-drain life/SB

Yeah, meta is the "oh, I am kinda of bored lets' take on 12 mobs at the same time" button... I especially enjoy Immolation aura + Hellfire.
