80 PVP builds

i think that blizz finally has made it possible to spec into any tree for pvp

my aff. build would be
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

i would say this spec would find corruption glyph, Siphon life, and death coil(always take that one at 80)

Demon which is my favrite to play at 80 not sure how it will fair at 80 but i assume it will be the anti-melee build more so then everybefore
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

As far as destro goes i played something close to this at 70 but is a very different play style for locks which requires a more hands on approach
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

i also like a SL/felguard spec as a possiblilty anyone else with a totaly diffrent pvp spec?

fixed link..think i did

I appreciate the post, but your link for the Destro build is not a destro build, just thought I'd let you know.

Re: 80 PVP builds

I will be trying the afflic build you posted at 80 for sure, I'm already 56/5/0 so I'll just add to it as i go. I spend 80% of my wow time pvping.

I have always been a hardcore afflic guy. There is something to be said about setting up all your DoT's, do a little bit of cc on someone who thinks your gonna be easy meat, then to only outplay them and walk away while they say "what happened to all my HP"

BTW though it's not as easy after patch, but I love it when a warrior charges me thinking oh! a clothie, easy kill -- then i hit my macro thats just does /bye as he is dieing lol

Re: 80 PVP builds

Comments:

Affliction

I don't think that Dark Pact has become any better for PvP builds in Wrath of the Lich King, but I might be wrong. Probably ok for BGs but unneeded for Arena.

Everlasting Affliction is not as cool as it sounds. It *really* easy to re-apply an instant Corruption, the damage bonus is okay though.

From experience, a full DOT rotation with Haunt (and shadoe embrace effect) is almost impossible in PvP.

Demo

What for do you need Demonic Sacrifice in a Demo build? No Demonic Brutality? I mean, you need the best DPS for your pet imho. Supression/Cataclysm are bad choices for PvP builds in general, it's so easy to hit cap PvP. Rather get some DPS boost. Curse of Agony *will* be cast in PvP for sure. CoX is only situational, CoE takes too much time, unless you are have 3+ magic damage dealers in 5 Arenas.

Destro

A destro build without Chaos Bolt feels weak to me. I would enjoy high haste stacking and backdraft effects for Soul Fire/Chaos Bolt Combos. Burst it.

On the other hand I am not sure if Searing Pain might not return for quick spamming with the new +crit damage glyph for this spell. Instants are superior indeed.

Why no Molten Core? Very cool talent. And you spec Corruption stuff, too, I assume you cast it.

My random try on three builds:

Affliction: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
I rather think that 8% (talent+glyph) SBs will proc Shadow Embrace *or* get Bane for getting it out in the right moment. Still feel too slow right now (in variants) as I'd prefer more burst.

Demo: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
Ruin is a must imho, you need to survive AND to burst. You will crit in Wrath of the Lich King, you have almost 20%+ without any crit gear and there is *only* crit gear for PvP. It's good to have a nice proc up. Shadowburn Glyph for critting them away.

Destro: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
My least favorite. Backdraft + Soul Fire/Chaos Bolt + Haste Stacking + Fire and Brimstone (only makes sense in PvP environment imho) might be okay. Not my piece of cake for sure.

Re: 80 PVP builds

Succy with 10K health soul-linked, Imp Succy, Conflag with Pyroclasm, Aftermath.....

I can go on.....

Here's my build:

Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

Very similar to your's Neej, but I honestly see destro as being the pvp build of choice for a lot of people due to the fact that SL is finally accessible to it.

Shadowfury gives you a 2nd CC without diminishing returns and Pyroclasm proccing off of conflag is hot. Two instant nukes (Conflag and SBurn).

Yeah, it's still RNG, but it's also really hot, imo. Just cause the succy's instant.

Let's all not forget that you will have a port a too.......=D

Re: 80 PVP builds

The World of Warcraft Armory

This build combined with my Glyph of Conflagration means a near constant haste/crit combo.

Im gemmed for Crit, as well as the nifty trinket picked up in ToC, the Abyssal Rune means a great deal of 8-10k crits when Im in a BG.

I specced into Aff for the improved Fear, and Demo for a boost to base stam.

I am almost always in the top 3 when I run WSG.

As well I am not even fully PVP geared ( currently 1 piece ), now this spec is primarily BG based. I have yet to test it in an arena.

Now some of you might wonder why not spec molten skin, or shadow burn, simple. A clothy is a clothy. Molten skin is a minor reduction to damage dealt, and being stun locked makes the talent useless. Shadow burn is a waste on mana, though as aLock an instant is a rarity when not aff specced.

Affliction has many good points about, and I feel it is meant for either 2v2 or 3v3. I specced aff and found myself surviving just as long as I do destro (yes trollers shout out and say "Then you're not playing it right"). The downside is I was unable to kill my target(s) and all that happened is I got to see the blinking numbers as I waited to res in my gy.

I mainly play WSG, so I prefer seeing the opposing FC dropping dead immediately opposed to him/her getting half way across the field where a healer brings them back to full health.

Another issue with aff for me is that I no longer have a stun. In an one on one battle against a destro lock when I played as AFF (this was during a BG) was his use of shadowfury. He used shadowfury+fear+immol+conflag+incinerate spam. Keep in mind this chain was punctuated with my own attempt to defeat him. As an undead once he feared me, WoF+ DC, in the moment I had begun casting my own fear, his shadowfury was used again, the battle went back and forth for a few more seconds, and I found my DoTs combined with Haunt and Life drain were unable to save me from his stun.

In short, Destro in a BG means lots of burst damage, as I stated earlier I will crit from 8-10k regularly, which even against a ret pally makes them have an Oh sh*t moment when they see 1/3 of their health ((Depending on gear, and buffs)) is gone in less than 4 seconds.
