deep demon builds not for raiding?

I've always stayed mostly in the demon tree and have tried out many specs. Currently I am spec 0/50/21. I was running a 0/41/30 build and had a Incinrate rotation but I just found that shadow bolt spam still did the most damage so I respeced back.

The World of Warcraft Armory

Thing is, my gear, enchants, gems and talent spec I feel are not so bad however my dps is pretty lackluster on 25 man raids.

I encounter locks with like 4/5 T7 pieces and mostly epics who beat me out by quite a bit or you have like mages, hunters, DKs, ret palis, fury warriors, these classes always seem to far beat me out and yet they have put far far less work in their characters.

Put out like 1989 dps last night on 25 man OS which I have been told is very low I was about #15 on the damage charts and there wasn't a large difference between #7to#18. Raid leaders didn't want to let me come to the naxx run unless I spec for affliction.

Once again demon builds get no love for PVE. Whats up with that? Is there some way I can improve?

Re: deep demon builds not for raiding?

If you want to keep deep demo spec, you will have to change a bit your spec.

2 choices :
World of Warcraft Europe -> Info -> Calculateurs de talents

or

World of Warcraft Europe -> Info -> Calculateurs de talents

Re: deep demon builds not for raiding?

First thing Dog when I pulled you up I noticed two things. You are a little low on hit for Raids and You are gemming for Haste when Spellpower is a much better stat at this time. Also you have a Rep Reward chest with MP5 I see that you have mark of the war prisoner so you have ran VH keep going at it till you get the Water Drenched Robe off Ichor its excelent.

Now on to you talents.

Well there not bad but theres a few points that I would move around personaly. Drop some points outta Demonic Resilience he shouldnt be getting hit that much in the first place and stick them into Healthstone. Theres no reason why a demo lock shouldnt have a Improved Healthstone so the Afflocks in your raid dont have to spec into it.

If you are running with a Ele Shammy your SP is not going to be high enough to overright his Buff with Demonic pact. You could take those points out and stick them in the Destro tree if you want. if you do not have one though explain that to your RL you give the raid an extra 200 sp almost all the time. I would take a point outta Mana Feed though and stick it with Demonic Empowerment its a grreat ability now that its off the GC. Just Macro DE with your main nuke and you will be hittingit almsot everytime it refreshes.

Its not that Demo is not wanted in raids or that there not usefull but a deep demo lock is going to sacifice some of his personal damage to up the damage of the raid. Its a personal call :-)

Re: deep demon builds not for raiding?

Why not try something like this:

Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft - pull the 2 out of Imp. Health Funnel and throw them in Imp. Health Stone for raiding I'd say.

You MUST get Demonic Empowerment, as others said above, it's just too good to miss. Macro it in. I also find I need 3/3 Mana Feed to keep the FG cleaving full time. He should be a big chunk of your DPS, so that's really important.

Also, with this many points, get Meta. The 20% damage boost plus Immolation Aura can put up some good numbers. Macro Meta, Charge, Trinket, Immo Aura. From there you can either auto-attack plus shadow cleave + SB, or if there are multiple mobs or adds, Hellfire. When Meta fades, Demonic Circle teleport back out to range and continue. Works great.

Ok yes meta needs some help, but with that many points in Demonology I think you need it to keep up. Make sure you don't just save it for boss fights, hit Meta every time it's cooldown is up and you have 3 or more mobs in the pull, and do the meta/charge/trinket/immo aura/hellfire or Rain of Fire trick. Burn your trinkets every time they are up. With the build above that has Molten Core, on trash pulls where stuff dies fast throw Curse of Agony or Corr or both up on the mobs and then Rain of Fire. Trinket if it's available and hope for an MC proc.
