Checkingout various builds for lv 70-80
Hi all, currently im a lv 72 lock running around northrend and loving it( 57/0/6). After researching the character, i specced demonology till mid 30s then specced affliction, (im loving the non stop destruction rampage). Now im 72 however im looking for a good spec that will see me through 70-80 in northrend (relativly easily). With a good foundation to drop into raids, I have checked out Vuxs guide to Aff, and found some excellent material regarding afflic that helped me out. So now im wondering what build gives me the best ride to 80, people say afflic, people say FG/SL, i only have 63 points lol.. so i need to choose wisely. I noticed a lot of people looking for lv 80 builds with the full talent points, Im looking for something to get me to 80 and start raiding with ![]() Any ideas or places to look? |

Re: Checkingout various builds for lv 70-80
I am thinking Meta/Ruin is going to be a popular raid build especially after 3.1 |

Re: Checkingout various builds for lv 70-80
The best build by far is the FG/SL build for leveling. Affliction comes at a close 2nd. Going affliction can take you right into raiding. Whereas FG/SL you are going to have to respec once you get into raiding. I personally went affliction for leveling only because I have been affliction since level 1 and I am used to it. I have a friend whos leveling his warlock up from 70-80 and he says leveling with the FG/SL build is extremely easy and hes having a blast doing it. Hes also able to do non-heroic dungeons and have competative dps. To me the raiding builds fall into 2 categories: Overall dps and Boss dps. Boss dps: Affliction. Affliction has the highest potential dps on bosses. But your overall dps will fall short to the other builds. If you are using AoEs you can stay somewhat competative though but you wont have the numbers the other builds have. Overall dps: The hybrid builds will do amazing overall dps, much more so then affliction. My first time using a hybrid build I stayed in top 5 in overall dps on 25 man naxx. Downside is you wont be able to do the kind of dps affliction can put out on bosses. You can stay competative though. This is the way I see the different builds. I dont really seperate them any other way, because if you choose any of the raiding builds out there you will have fun and you will be able to dps. It just depends on how you want to do it. After patch 3.1 I see the FG/SL leveling build becoming better and the deep affliction build falling a bit in leveling. |
