Im running naxx at the moment. Most of the time when im raiding there is another destro lock there,

WoW Heroes - World of Warcraft PvE character info & ratings

she always has the imp out so we get the stamina buff from that. So i run the felhunter for the intel/spirit buff. Hitting dummies there is little or no difference in my DPS between running the imp and felhunter his survival rate is pretty good although he does tend to die on some bosses in naxx.

im currently running 3/13/52 then put the spare points in health stone.

so that means i have 2 points in health stones and 3 points in imp and another 3 points in empowered imp that i have wasted. with the gear i have at the moment im hit capped at 369.

Im wondering if I would be better to pull the points out of health stones and Imp and stick them in soul leach, demonic reach and ISL. making it 3/10/59 with 2 points spare to maybe put in demonic brutality to improve the felhunter? This should help my dps as I wont need to LT so much, reduce my threat and help the healers/caster as I wont need healing so much and increase their mana regen.

comments?

EDIT had a play due to needing 5 points in the first line of demo to get the other stuff i have stuck an extra point in fel synergy this should help felhunters surviveability.

Woah, why do you care about the pet buffs? Are you saying your raid does not have a mage buffing int and a others buffing stam? Those pet buffs don't stack, and just get overridden by superior buffs from other raid members.

Dummy testing does not include raid buffs, so it's not telling the true story, but the mathletes over at EJ have done extensive testing on the best pet, and the Imp will be significantly more DPS in a raid than the Feldoggy. If you have some fight that doesn't work well with the imp... for whatever reason... you are better off to pull out your succubus, she will put out more DPS than the Felhound. Both will be far behind a buffed Imp in a raid situation for a Destro lock.

Also read the text for Empowered Imp:
Quote:
Empowered ImpRank 3Increases the damage done by your Imp by 15%, and all critical hits done by your Imp have a 100% chance to increase your spell critical hit chance for your next spell by 20%. This effect lasts 8 sec.
Yes, that's right... by dumping empowered imp you decrease your own DPS as well as your imp's.

It's post 3.2 patch and I'm hittign 3k against the target dummies with the felhound and 2.7 with the imp. I'm spec'd 3/13/55

The World of Warcraft Armory

I'm quite well geared, so I don't understand how others can be pulling 4k+ and I basically suck in comparison.

My rotation is CoE - Immolate - CoD - Con*** - CB - Incinerate - Con*** - Immolate - CoD - CB....rinse and repeat

anyone have suggestions?

Thanks

Re: [Patch 3.1.2] DESTRUCTION Talent Build Discussion

Jessicaa,

Just at a quick glance, I would say you need to work on some stats and tweak your rotation a little. From what I can tell with your gear, you could really use more haste. Destro shines when you are close to, or at, about 505 haste. The fact that you have 204 haste is really hurting you here.

As for your rotation, try something like:
<curse>, Immolate, Conflag,Incin, Incin, Chaos Bolt,
Spam Incin until Immolate is at 5seconds or less then pop Conflag ->Incin, Incin, Incin (or CB if its ready)
Refresh Immolate and make sure it is up.
For the <curse> I would normally use Curse of Doom if you are on a boss and have another warlock putting up CoE or if you have an Unholy DK with ebon plaguebringer, otherwise I would put up CoE.

Make sure your imp is always attacking your target. Speaking of the imp.. I would put points into Empowered Imp as this will be a pretty good dps boost as well.

Hope that helps.

3.2 Re: [Patch 3.1.2] DESTRUCTION Talent Build Discussion

I've been away from Warlock for years and coming back fresh. Will be level 80 by the end of the week and I have a guild spot waiting for me that's currently in H-ToC.

My question is, as someone who needs to gear outside of raids quickly, should I just focus on Dest now? As that's going to be my raiding spec and I think that perhaps I should get accustomed to it now?

Also, I'm looking for an up-to-date gear list for someone getting ready to raid. Heroics/Conquest Token/Triumph token gear? Most of the stuff I find is 3.1 at the latest.

Any help?

Re: [Patch 3.1.2] DESTRUCTION Talent Build Discussion

While it is a good idea to learn the Destruction rotation, the upcoming changes with 3.3 are making other trees look more attractive for raids. I would recommend dabbling a bit in destruction, and perhaps dual spec for an affliction spec just to get the feel of affliction down. Use Destruction up until 3.3. Then do some research as to what the new raid dps is. Most people are betting on affliction.
