Help me, I'm broken! I have decent gear, but I can't seem to get much past 9k DPS. I am starting to think I have some sort of gearing issue, but I don't know what. I started thinking maybe I should focus a little more on my haste rating, but looking at other warlocks of similar levels I don't see them that differently, however they are most definitely pulling more DPS. any ideas on enchants/reforging that I should be getting into? Otherwise I really don't know what I am doing wrong. I pretty much follow the elitist jerks recommendations for rotation and DoT management. Or, am I not really doing too badly and need to just run more heroics for better gear. Thanks for the help. |

I am not an expert by any means, but some gemming and enchants are sub par. Better head and shoulder enchants at revered with gaurdians of Hyjal and therazane. Power level enchanting and get the plus 40 on each ring, I can't remember what level, but 475 and 490 by memory. Haste does look really low. I'd still go for the 10 percent plateau. Running heroics only need 6% hit, so you can reforge that till ready to raid. The gemming, for example in your belt is very bad. I'd go with +40 int in the prismatic socket, and the +20int +20hit for the blue. I see other off enchants and gems that are sub-par as well. I kind of understand the enchants though as a fellow enchanter. You do end up with some crazy enchants while leveling enchanting. |

Whats with the resilance items? Lose them. It is my understanding that Hit or Spell crit is much more desirable than Mastery. That being said why havent you reforged most of your items to maximize those attributes? Trade any spirit for Intell as you can tap and self heal. If you want resil for pvp then keep a seperate set of pvp gear. Just my 2 cp. |

Thanks for the help, did some re-specing that has helped slightly. Going to go ahead and rush my enchanting all the way up and fix some of my enchants. Also going to get the rep taken care of. I've seen a slight DPS improvement, still not where I would like, but I think things are improving. |

You can also go to askmrrobot.com and see what you can get with there. Helped me alot with reforging and gemming. Also, found out that i need a very good execution on rotations and i go over the hedge with DPS -: 14k. Helps alot with the BiS items aswell. Just play around with it Edit: You really need to gear up through heroics atm. You also really need to get the factions rep gear. If you asked me you wasted the power torrent enchant on the dagger. You will quickly replace it through HCs. I say wasted because on my server at least the mats for it are so damn expensive (9-10 k for the enchant) Good job with the peerless stats (another one i couldn t get) Sorry if i misslead because i am by far a master of da lock. Int > Hit (6%-7% for Heroics) > Haste (to threshold 10%, 30%, 50%) > Crit > Mastery I can't emphasize enough that you need to prioritize your enchants and gems to gain as much intellect as possible while still keeping your hit rating capped (since you are not raiding you can keep your hit at 6-7%). ImRorschac is leading you in the right direction on gemming and enchanting so I'm not going to repeat. It's also difficult to help if you don't provide us with your understanding of spell priorities (rotations). I saw you mentioned EJ but you need to give us your understanding. How are you using Demon Soul? Bane of Havoc? Etc.? And I agree with Charnyl - there is a ton of information and advice on this site. |

You need to understand your stat weights and that will make it easy to choose good gems, enchants and reforge well. But it will take better gear and tighter execution to make a substantial difference to your dps. In my opinion, 8-10k is fine for a heroic. You're not carrying anybody but you're not dead weight either. Come back when you're capping out at 6k. |

Yes, i made the mistake of trying to go way over the cap for hit reforging to about 10%. After going back and checking all the threads form the Den and EJ found that this was completely unnecessary. Before ilvl 333 avg gear, DPS range was around 7-8k. After reforging with gear around 333 for heroics DPS stayed around 8K sadly. Went with the notion that: Int>Hit(6-7%)>Haste>Crit>Mastery, found that DPS went up to around 10k while being lazy and around 11-2k when being quick with decisions. Still need to polish off the rotation/priority but it seems that with the proper allocation of stats and order of priority that over 9k DPS is attainable and sustainable. Make sure that you are putting your Bane of Havoc on targets that you are not single target DPSing and let the damage come to them. Also make sure that you are starting the fight with Soulfire. For the bosses make sure that you throw in a shadowbolt (if you you can proc the shadowflame buff) and also make sure that you let your dots run their duration. You should have empowered imp and improved soulfire. When your imp procs your free soulfire, its lasts for a while. Make sure that you dont waste it instantly and overwrite a fresh soulfire buff. At this level of gear the proc is kind of flakey an you may not get one for a while. Get your Int and Haste gems, they help the most. Also think of anything that may give you some flexibility in those fights that make you move or switch to adds from bosses. A good example is the fight in halls of origination where you have to pull the two levers. Use your portal and be quick about it. After both levers, nuke the boss with soulburn/soulfire before the scorpions get to you. Be prepared to RoF/Shadowflame the adds or if your group communicates, have the tank grab them. Just an example for preparedness but all the little tricks are what the people pulling big numbers are doing that you may not be seeing. Hope this helps a bit.
