incinerate vs shadowbolt: better for damage or casting time?
I wondered about incinerate. Is it consdered the new shadowbolt for destruction locks (i.e.: does it do more damage than a shadowbolt for a destruction lock) or is it considered the new bolt for warlocks without bane (i.e. with this spell maybe I could consider a 30/31/0 because I can drop bane)? Especially the damage versus shadowbolt for a full destruction lock interests me but you can of course also comment the 30/31/0...

You gotta take in the fact that Ruin dosen't works with Incinerate . So unless you're not puttin a point into Ruin , Incinerate can be on par with Shadow Bolt . 30/31/0 ? SM/DS ? If you're going for that , Incinerate isn't shadow , maybe you can try DS/SnF . |

Is it correct to say that cast times are the same between SB and incenerate if you have invested in "bane"? If so, incinerate has the upper hand from a damage/mana standpoint particularly if cast in the context of an active immolate. |

I dinged 64 yesterday (yay) and as a result was able to unlock incinerate rank one. Let me tell you that unless the mob has some FR, I'm saying bye bye to SB as my main nuking ability. With an improved imp and the fire damage boosting talent: CoE <+insta corrption>+ immolate+incinerate+soulfire+conflagration spells quick death for the mob. I can't wait to hit exalted with the Scryers in order to craft some of those +fire damage potions. Lastly, before BC was released, I wouldn't use fire based magic as much as I liked due to: - raiding in instances where lots of mobs/bosses are fire resistant (MC+BWL) - PVPing against players that were raiding the same instances as I did and as a result had a lot of FR gear to play with. I can't say what's ahead of us in terms of high level instances but as far as PVP is concerned, everyone has been renewing their previous equipment due to the much improved equipment that drops in the outland so I'm assuming that it will be long before they start showing up in the BGs with big FR equipement. |

Bane still decreases immolate's cast time, so there is a use even for a firelock. For now, I still have my ebony flame gloves with a 20shadow enchant on them, so incinerate is way below shadow bolt. But once I'll get a more general stuff (or fire gloves) incinerate will certainly become my new shadow bolt

I just get my incinerate today and with the same amount of +damage in shadow & fire, my incinerate with CoE + immo is hitting 10% less than my SB with CoS. Save to its very cool look, i'll use it also because (mainly) of the new rank of soulfire, so I can farm using CoE all the time. But it's not better than a SB especially with the sb debuff. (btw i'm 0/42/13) |

If you go deep into destro Incinerate can become your main nuke.Because Ruin, Emberstorm AND S&F are in the same tree.Anyway...destro for raids? |

Does anyone know if the Locks Incinerate will get a nice procs from the Mages Improved Scorch ? If we do get that as we all know the fire mages love that extra +15% this would make a nice addition to the above numbers for Incinerate |
