Have Things Changed?
I haven't played since July 06. At that time I was running with the DS and headed towards ruin. I'm starting over on a new server with friends, so is affiliction still a good way to level? What's a good mid/late level build? I like affiliction, but DS was nice too.

Re: Have Things Changed?
Um... to ellaborate on Demonblade's reply: Yes, things have changed, a whole heck of a lot. Affliction is good, and many of it's spells and talents have been moved around and altered to make drain tanking better. You have access to many powerful talents in the early levels. Demonology rocks hardcore now, the talents make it the tree I most desire, along with many others. I switched from Demonology to Affliction at 58 though so I don't know how well it functions in the lower levels. The parts of that tree I like the most are near the top. Demonology is better suited for direct damage, in my opinion. If you're a player that prefers many dots, you'd be disappointed with Demonology. |

Re: Have Things Changed?
Things have changed, but not drastically until your later levels. Affliction is still king for leveling though. |

Demo build has been buffed as has Destr. build I would try the Demo build when you can put 41 points in the tree to play it. We have some nice new talents and spells which you will pick up quickly. For the most part, we rock harder than ever b4

Re: Have Things Changed?
I'm in the same boat - I quit in June and came back last week and found *everything* had changed. Heartbeat Resists? 12 second CC cap? SOUL LINK NERFED?!?! Bah. I was hard-core demonology from 1-60 while levelling up my Warlock, and did lots of PvP with a 9/31/11 build, but it'll be hard to stay Demonology now that I can get Conflag + Siphon Life + Nightfall + Backlash + CoEx in a single build. Or SM/Ruin + Instant Howl of Terror + Dark Pact. Just too much PvP goodness in the middle of the Destruction and Affliction trees. I feel like I've got to go the full 41 points (actually 43, to get both Demonic Resilience and Knowledge) into Demonology, or else it's not worth progressing past the first tier. Which makes it tough to stay Demonology given all the great PvP talents in the middle of the other tiers. I'll give it a shot once I hit 70 just to see how I like the Felguard vs the other pets, I guess. P.S. I hope they didn't nerf the whole "Demonic Sacrifice + Jumper Cable Rez" trick too ;_; |

What is this Seed of Corruption of which you speak. No such spell would ever exist of course. All other classes would be screaming even harder for a warlock nerf. It must have been.......removed in beta |
