Farming low level mobs + Using in raids on aoe fights ++ Getting 4-5 seeds planted and then have them go off and almost give your computer an aneurysm ++++ If it's just one or two mobs, not worth the mana cast imo, and like the others said, always cast it first on the mob your pets not attacking, so you can stack them on others. |

I just love the illhoof fight in Kara, spam SoC, piss all the mages off, usally sends the dps meters through the roof. Though i do remember when SoC was broken, and it was an insta wipe. Hit a few mobs in Scholo, and you'd aggro the entire place.what fun was that when you had no idea SoC could pull through walls and what not. Ahh the good ole days. As someone previously mentioned...it's awesome using it in Kara. I usually dont start throwing it out in a raid until the first target is close to death. By that time I figure the tank has built enough aggro for me to start flinging it out there. Tab, seed, tab, seed, etc.... Works great in BG's...since the only aggro you need to worry about is from pets/minions..and they're usually occupied already. As horde..it's a nice weapon when you're on D in AV at the gates of FW. At that choke point you can find a nice spot hidden from view and seed away all day. I rarely use it when I'm fighting a mob alone in pve. It pulls mobs off my FG to easily. Should only be used IMO when you're farming and facing low level mobs. |

i use it this way: (just some numbers) if the mobs im facing have 5000hp and the SoC do 1000 damage then it goes off, then there has to be at least 5-6 mobs, otherwise i dont use SoC because im sure to get agro when it goes off, and then i want the mobs to be death. then i use SoC on all mobs and finish SoC on the mob where the pet or the tank is doing damage, and then use a shadowburn/shadow bolt if it not goes off right a way. this way i do the mobs just before 2boss in MGT heroic mode. |

Mount Hyjal + Palli Tank + SoC = FUN FUN FUN  I find it most useful in a raid environment too. The Illhoof encounter in Karazhan is made for it. Get the full FSW set (if you're a tailor), spam SoC on Illhoof, Lifetap to get mana and see your health back to full due to the healing set bonus. If you're destro specced (with nether protection) and have good healers it might be better to use Hellfire on Illhoof since that damages him too. Most of the time you're immune to the imps firebolts. Just make sure you have concentration aura. Other fights where it really shines assuming solid AoE tanking going on: Serpent Shrine Cavern: Morogrim Tidewalker and maybe Hydross The Eye: Solarian and the weapons phase at Kael'thas Mount Hyjal: Trash waves Black Temple: some trash groups and the gauntlet to Reliquary of Souls Don't know about Sunwell Plateau. |

Spec full destro. Find out the mobs hp pool.... Herd them with your void. When their bunched up and pummeling your otherwise useless demon, cast as many socs needed to kill the mobs. Cast shadowfury on the herd. LOOT. Be carefull to keep em bunched up when you detonate it, don't go over the aoe damage treshold so the damage is optimal  Other damage the mobs take can make the seed blow up early, which will result in your demise, but soc grinding is wicked fun.
