I need you guys to do 2 things: Convince and advise
First and foremost, I am an immensely confused WoW player. Right now I have a 54 warrior, a 36 druid, and a 29 warlock twink. I am not the person that wanted to devote all his time to one character and then make others. Well at around the 30's of my warrior I got kind of bored, so I decided I would split my time between leveling my warrior and getting my druid to 29 to be a twink. So I had some decent fun on my druid and same ol' same ol' on the warrior. After a while, I started to get bored again and so I made a warlock, which I decided to make a twink as well. I ended up having a lot more fun getting him to 29 than the others. Well, I got him to 29, and eventually my warrior to 54, so I had a 54, 29, and 29. Then I took a couple month break from the game. When I came back, I had made my decision to stop playing my warrior because it was just boring, and wanted to level my druid instead. Now my druid is 36 and yet again my mind turns. The thing is, I've seen many disadvantages to being a feral druid, particularly bad PvP and bad instances if you don't know what you are doing. So then my warlock came to mind, and how much fun I had leveling him. Now I just can't decide, so this is where the convincing comes in: shall I drop the druid and level the lock as a main, or keep the twink and level the druid, or do you think I'm crazy for already going decently far on the warrior and suddenly dropping it? And now the advising part, which I decided to put into the same thread instead of making a different topic in the Talents forum. I was just wondering, if I am to level the warlock, what are the advantages to each talent tree? Thanks for any help! |

Re: I need you guys to do 2 things: Convince and advise
Warlocks are a lot of fun, even more so when you hit 70. If your having a lot of fun leveling your lock, I say continue leveling it. As far as what the Talent Tree's offer... Affliction > Survivability, slow fights, less downtime. This is good in later levels for leveling by tackling multiple mobs at once, with drain life, siphon life and dark pact your health/mana remain high. You'll not use your pets very much. Demonology > Survivability, medium fights. You'll depend on your pets a lot here. I found this a good build when leveling solo until i got to higher levels. Demo is also great for PvP when you get to higher levels. Destruction > Fast fights with lots of damage. Destro will suck your mana up quickly, its a little harder to handle multiple mobs, but its a lot of fun burning your opponents down fast. I wouldn't suggest destro for leveling, but definitely for PvP. Hybrid > I would suggest reviewing the information on this website regarding each talent and how you like to play the game. A lot of people love one tree over another, but sometimes the right solution for you is not to put all your talent points in one basket. Sometimes you may wanna spend most in one, but a few in another tree for added damage, or survivability. Totally up to you and how you like to play. Good luck!

Well, right now I have a hybrid going on for twinking recommended by a member, but I may reset and spec for a while, possibly demonology, though keep the instant corruption. |

I feel like just saying this and not being all, depends on what you want, etc, etc. get extra stam and Imp VW, then in Affliction, instant corr, and then drain life, soul sphion, life tap stuff like that. Do Affliction and Demo. Send in the pet, dot, dot, dot, life tap, SB or drain life. Your pet should keep agro the fight or until it is almost dead. |

Yeah, affl plus demo seems like a decent idea. Come on people, I'll need more convincing though! |

Since you're a twink, you can probably afford a couple respecs. I say try every flavor, see which one you like best.

Let's see, play a boring Warrior, or a boring Druid, or a "Wow, this is FUN!" warlock (I'm paraphrasing the OP, mind you). Ummm, what was the question again? |

Re: I need you guys to do 2 things: Convince and advise
I've tried leveling a rogue, a warrior, a priest, a shammy, and two warlocks. One warlock made it to 30-odd before I rerolled. I didn't like how orcs looked in dresses =P Honestly, my warlock leveled the fastest for me by a long shot. The whole pet class thing makes gear matter a lot less as you level. I think I hit 50 on my rogue in 12 days played.. 50-54 took another three days. My lock hit 70 at 11 days played.. go figure =\ Play what's fun, man. Best advice you'll probably have, and it'll be repeated often.

So affliction for leveling, eh?
Yes, I've read several posts on it, and yes, I am still asking. Right now I am about to move my 29 twink onwards. So that means a respec out of my twink build. Therefore, I need one that will be good for leveling. I know affliction is good for less downtime, but slow kills. I am not too much of a fan of slow kills, however. I also know that destruction is bad for leveling. Demonology would be somewhat of a mix between the two, correct? It is just hard to pick between affliction and demonology for solo'ing and 5-mans for instances along the way to higher levels. Gah, it is so hard to choose!! =s |
