Drain Tanking - 17 seconds per fight. Good?

Hello Warlock's Den! Glad I could join and be part of the community! I had a small question that has been bugging me for a bit. I use the "drain tank" method and I was wondering if 17 seconds per fight was good. My current build is http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/ch...n=Hellzwarlock

Could anyone comment and is if i could improve. Thanks!

Yours truly
Hellzwarlock

Re: My Warlock

If you end a fight with full mana and health after 17 seconds against a same level mob and can immediately go into the next pull that's not bad.

Now see if you can do two in under 24 seconds (12 seconds each) and then work towards three in under 30 seconds.

Yah one think to work toward is seeing how well you can handle against multiple mobs. I notice you are level 45 and I have to say as a drain tank Warlock you really start coming into your own in the mid 40s. I was running around hinterland taking on 3 or 4 mobs at a time just cause it was fun. You have some nice spell damage and good gear for the drain tank build so I am betting you are doing just fine with your fights.

Go out and have some fun and stretch your abilities a bit with multiple mobs. Nothings better for grinding or farming than taking on 3 or 4 mobs at a time, and still having life and some mana left when you are finished.

Thanks for taking a peek at my gear Lozt. I really appretiate the comment. Never really thought my gear was good : D Sounds like a good idea to take on some more mobs. I usually take on one and then just keep jumping to the next. I have to say though the Warlock's guide to drain tanking is really well done and put into detail. Thats what really got me started on this. : D

Mix playstyles for the ultimate enjoyment . Draintank one mob, have another banish/doomed while fear dotting 2 others .
Absolute mayhem, but when you start pulling it off it is very fun

On my grind for XP, I mostly took on one mob using the VW, dotted it up and feared it, and moved on to the next mob. If you time it correctly you can take on 5/6 mobs in a killing train. Where your biggest problem is keeping your mana up ;)

takes some practice I guess ;)

I was reading through the "Find an upgrade" to my items on the armory and I was wondering when an item has an item level of say 65 would the necessarily mean that I have to be 65 to weild it? I noticed that it didn't include what level you have to be.

I've noticed that two, but I think its like 4 or 5 levels below the Item level when you can start using it(unless the level of a item is above 70 in which a level 70 can use it)

Example is the shadoweave mask (I just thought of that one since I used to use it) its item level is 49 but you can be 44 when you start wearing it.

Another thing... Shadow Embrace counts as a debuff for purposes of Soul Siphon. You might try to fit one point into that talent.

The "Item Level" represents the power level of the item, not what level you can use it. At lower levels you will be within 5 or so of the item level when you can use it, but that changes. Currently my lowest "item level" piece is like 88 (Neltharion's tear, obtainable at 60 in BWL) and the rest of my items are in the 120 neighborhood.
