Having some major issues with my spec
Let me start by saying that i love this forum. It really twicked my interest in warlocks and I must say that I never want to touch my prot warrior again. The gear information is just outstanding. I really felt overpowered at all levels with the gear that I was able to craft and it made the leveling process that much easier. So my issue has to do with spec. In the last few days I have really dropped the gold to play several different specs and try to fine tune my play style. Armory is currently down so I can't link my profile but i have around 170 hit, 202 with the blood gem. 1k damage with fel armor. I have the FSW and Spellstrike set, however I just replaced the boots with the Boots of Blasting after finding the recipe on the AH for 100g ! I also have the voodoo cloth belt. I leveled to 70 being full affliction and I must say it was pure greatness. However, I really wanted to be able to do more burst damage and something more impressive in BG. I rolled with several different builds and I am currently specced 0/21/40. I have found that I now go from most damage done to most killing blows. Nothing feels better than getting a massive crit on some alliance character during BG. So what is the problem? I really find that I am missing 3 things, Siphon life, dark pact, and howl of terror. While the burst is there the fuel to feed the fire is not. SL is just heaven and having that imp battery is just wonderful. So my conclusion is that I need to somehow spec full affliction and full distro. I need about 10 more points to play with! If i could just get 10 more points I would have the best of both worlds. Instant dots, never-ending mana, burst damage so scary my own kid wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Raids are not really a problem for me currently. I have done well in kara, zf, and most heroics. I can't run SSC/TK with my guild because they start so damn early. I am really having a good time in BGs at the moment. I seem to really like 2 specs the most, 40/0/21 and 0/21/40. If I am able to preform fine in both BG and raids with either one (top 2-3) which should I chose? If you have a suggestion please let me know. |

tbh 40/0/21 ...Ruin isn't superior to UA if you've went that far into the Affliction tree. If you want the burst damage then use 0/21/40...Thats all i can suggest. and with destruction specs, get used to life tapping ;p |

You can put out Very good damage with a 40/0/21 spec. While UA puts out better damage, dont automatically discount this spec. It's personal pref. and if you are running Kara/ZA with a decend raid group you should be fine. In raids you do more damage on trash and add fights, and can still put out decent numbers on bosses. You just need the hit rating. I ran a Kara last week as 40/0/21 and did more damage than the better geared destro lock in the group cuz I had 135 hit rating to his 70. In BG's the spec is fun to SoC with and nothing is better than winding up a shadowbolt as someone starts at you, following w/ a shadowburn, criting on both, and watching them drop dead with no idea what the hell just hit them.
