Destro rotation just for heroics

So recently I startled playing my lock again. I speced destro to run heroics and have some fun and pump out some great dps. Just with curse of elements and shadow bolts my dps is great but my over all damage is lower than the other people I am running with. Maybe I been stuck playing a shammie resto toon too long. I wanted to know how I could pump up my over all damage done. I am not raiding with this lock so just heroics. Should I skip curse of elements and cast curse of agony and do I add immolate? Its been too long and I cant remember. I checked the spells and talents thread and I understand with with raiding with isb up shadow bolt is the way to go but for heroics will adding curse of agony with or without immolate? Thanks

Re: Destro rotation just for heroics

Looking at you armory link and spec I thik if you coe, immolate, and SB you will find about a 100 dps boost. I did as did all the locks in my guild who I had respec. Do not reapply the immolate if ISB is up but if it is down the damage is greater from the immolate due to 1.5 sec cast, or I apply if I am about to move/ lifetap.
Hope this helps!

Re: Destro rotation just for heroics

Only note is you want to start with CoE and probably Corr and Immolate just so you don't pull high threat and the tank can get a good hold on the aggro then after that SB spam... but of course this all depends on your gear. The big problem with SB spam is the crits start to spike threat pretty bad, threat meter = your friend, just keep an eye on threat when it gets high that's a good time to do Corr and Immolate, though Immolate can sometimes spike up threat a bit too.

Immolate is of use for most Destro warlocks until 4pc T6 (if however the mob dies in less than 15 seconds it becomes redundant) but for the rest - yes, just let the tank get an aggro lead and SB spam.

Dropping CoE on all the mobs in the pack is a good way to give the tank time to develop and aggro lead, so you're not just sitting around doing nothing for a few seconds every pull.

That should be true, but for some reason it hasn't worked out like that for me. I'm in badge/crafted/za/t4 loot so while I'm comfortably past the minimums for destro I'm nowhere near T6, let alone having the set bonus. But when when I dropped immo from my rotation, my total damage and damage relative to everyone else went up. And I'm talking boss fights.

I ran the numbers but reality didn't match up and I haven't figured why.

Anyway, shadow destro does more damage over long fights because if you have time for 3 shots, it's less likely you can chain crits.

Re: Destro rotation just for heroics

dont use immolate... why? well you have lag issues like most people in EU. put 3 dots up and SB spam.... I hate it as much as you but untill Blizz sort out the lag issue we are buggered. (if it is their issue)

I disagree with this. Using my current stats - 202+ hit, 1450ish shadow damage, 30% crit with a demonic sac shadow build and zero t6 pieces, casting immolate in a raid will raise my potential dps between 1 and 6 depending on raid buffs. And that is not factoring in lag or human error which means in reality if I cast immo I would have to work harder to maintain the same DPS as if I did not cast it.

Bah, shadowmages?

I have no tier gear, but still good, standing at ~1100 +damage, 26% crit (talented) and 5% haste unbuffed.

I usually coe, immolate, incinerate ++, then conflag and perhaps shadowburn at around 20%, you can't be last dps..... you just can't.

Just face it my brethren..... fire is better for solo dps, the isb spam is a thing of raids with class synergies that benefit from the debuff on sb crits.

coe, immolate and isb spam might be best on the bosses though.

Also with a good tank shadowfury can be worked in if you have it when mobs bunch up since it's off the gcd. (No im not 21\40 atm)
