I've read a whole bunch of stuff on Demonic Empowerment and most seem to find that it is a DPS loss or just insignificant in a Felguard spec. Still, I'll try that FG/Ruin spec out one of these days. Might as well. I tried a Meta build the other day and it was quite fun. |

it seems like Demonic Empowerment might not be the best to keep up everytime its up however you need to put the point somewhere and I think thats the only place that can give you a dps increase. Like I said I don't always put it up but I find that if I pop it right befor the pull and during spots in some fights where I might not be able to cast on the boss at the time anyways it can up over all damage some. One thing I am trying to do is get Shadowburn into this spec. It seems I have to either take a point out of Fel Synergy or Demonic Tactics. It seems like barring survivabilty issuse that the point is better off in Demonic Tactics. Here is my math please correct me if I am wrong. Takeing a point out of Fel Synesrgy means 5% less Stam and Int my pet gets from me. I get 12% of my pets Stam and Int as spell damage. I am guessing that 1500 is a pretty high estimate for raid buff stam + int for me: (.05 * .12) *1500 = 9 spell damage loss if I take a point out of Demonin Tactics: 22.1 crit loss I would say 22.1 crit > 9 spell damage but I might be missing something. |

3.0: Raid Spell Rotations?
I am currently trying out cast sequence macros in raids. (not sure if I like them yet or not, but still working on it) I am really struggling to come up with a spell rotation that maximizes my DPS. I am spec'ed 0/8/53 and sorta want to stay destruction for now. Has anyone worked out a decent rotation? This is what I am currently using (but it is just NOT doing it for me) Quote:

First of all i've never been a fan of castsequence macros. Too many things happen in a raid to rely on such a rigid sequence. Immunity, silcences etc. But from your castsequence, i see few things wrong: 1. you'ce casting SB. SB currently doesn't fit well in a firedestro combination anymore. 2. After conflagrate, you canst incinerate and lifetaps. First of all, incinerate doesn;t have immo to rely on for increased damage. Second of all, if you have backdraft, you should use the 30% haste proc after conflag to cast offensive spells with cast time. There are a few possible "rotations" after a conflagrate: Immo, incin, incin Immo, incin, CB (if off cooldown) 3 x soulfires (if you have enough shards) CB(if off cooldown), soulfire, soulfire Either way, you should make use of the haste buff somehow. |

what am i doing wrong?
im lost here... pre 3.0.2 was easily doing 1k dps, i was 0/21/40 would sacrafice my succy and CotE and SB the boss to death... easy schmeazy... now 3.0.2 and i'd like to stay destro, and would like to maximize my dps, as my druid is getting t6 and i'd like to share the wealth with my warlock... but i went fire destro (against my will) and i'm getting no more thatn 600 dps or so... which is POOR at best... whats the best raiding spec... fire destro? where did my shadow destro go? whats the spell rotation? *** Information added 1 Minutes and 4 Seconds later... *** btw, i tested my resto druid.. in resto spec im doing about 4-500 dps... when i go full balance in my resto-ish gear about 1200 dps... what gives? |

I have stopped doing anything on Elricc apart from a few dailies. My pally though is incredible-odd thing is I have been stacking attack power in ret. specc. but his heals are going up as I do???

can you post your gear? that may help explaining low dps I got some decent gear (mostly stuff up to early BT) and doing like 1350 dps on the training dummies using Curse of Agony, self buffed only. The problem you're having is probably rotation. You can't just say "I'm going to specc fire" because there's a.) different ways to specc for fire, and b.) rotation. Going from a one-button spam to a rotation that requires you to constantly watch about 14 different buttons and cooldowns is a pretty big leap. My only advice here is to use the training dummies. There is no way to do high dps as a lock right now without skill (which is great actually) Here's what I do: I use my imp and just tell him to keep attacking. At the same time I tell him to start attacking, I use either corruption or Curse of Agony, and then the other (so that when you cast the first spells, you can get molten core sooner). After that I cast immolate and then chaos bolt. Then I incinerate until one of these happens: A.) I got five or less seconds left on immolate; if that happens, I use conflagrate, then quickly get another immolate off to keep it up max time. B.) use chaos bolt whenever the cooldown is up. C.) Use lifetap regularly. D.) refresh dots. E.) use shadowbolt whenever my glyph of corruption procs. Pretty complex, right? You get used to it, though. basically, the strategy is to keep all dots up at all times, use chaos bolt whenever the cooldown is up, and use conflag only when immolate has about 3 seconds left or less; incinerate otherwise, and lifetap here and there. Here's my armory page, by the way, so you can look at gear and specc. For some odd reason my robe is showing up wrong... I have the badge robes with a +12 damage gem in it. |

First post here, just wondering how my DPS is with the gear i have... On the level 70 training dummies, I am pulling anywhere from 1250-1300 dps My spec right now is 56/0/5 Rotation is usually: SB -> UA -> Haunt -> Curse of Agony -> Corr -> SL-> Immolate Keeping haunt up at all times, refreshing dots as needed, and SB for down time. My armory isn't updated as of this post... I'm at: 1026 spell 105 hit 13.14% crit 58 haste Does this sound about right, if not what can I do to improve? |

Second - if you are going to cast Immolate - cast it right after UA - their timers are perfect for each other in that if you start your UA cast at 1.5 seconds left and spam Immolate - you will have a 0.5 sec downtime on each spell and get every tick you can get. :-)
