Re: SO Drain Soul Execute is pretttttty sweet
What mod are you guys using to show %Health for mobs? I checked the blizzard ui settings but could not find a setting for this. |

Re: SO Drain Soul Execute is pretttttty sweet
I think (if I recall correctly) that the Blizz UI will only allow pure numbers or %. I know there are unit frame replacements that will allow both, however. Their names elude me (as I suffer at work) |

I use PowerAuras to alert me with visual and audio when a mob hits 25% |

Re: SO Drain Soul Execute is pretttttty sweet
I personally use IceHUD. However, standard Blizzard UI should be able to show percentage. The reason you want a combat text notification though is because the %'s are rounded. So 25.4% is going to show as 25%, and 24.6% is going to show as 25%. Drain Soul's execute only occurs at =< 25%. So even if its showing as 25%, it might not necessarily be, and you will have to guess at when it hits 25%, and potentially lose dps as such. |

Re: SO Drain Soul Execute is pretttttty sweet
I run Pitbull for my userframes. It uses the DogTag lib for very customizable texts on the frames. I've set it up to give health in numbers (using K over 10.000 and Mil over 1.000.000) and percentages with 1 decimal (ie 24.9%). The DogTag lib is a memory hog and some claim it drops performance by a few fps though. If there is a leaner unitframe addon which offers flexibility like this I'd love to hear it as well ;).

Re: SO Drain Soul Execute is pretttttty sweet
Now that all the aspects of Affliction are working, note that Soul Siphon will take this to its highest possible point with 2 Affliction locks in the raid (assuming you drop Immolate). Haunt, Shadow Embrace, Curse of Agony, Corr, Siphon Life, UA, and Drain Soul all count as Affliction effects so the two locks gives you the full effect of this. I've seen ticks as high as 15K on Patchwerk when all three of us (we carry 3 aff locks) have all DoTs/Debuffs up. |

Re: SO Drain Soul Execute is pretttttty sweet
Good work guys. All of you have helped me to be the best affliction Warlock I can be. AG Unitframes lets you set it to show % of health and absolute at the same time. I use Parrot for my scrolling combat text. I have Parrot set to give me an audio and visual alarm at 25% target health. I'm pretty much epiced out, 2100+ spell damage w/ Fel armor. I have had a DS tick for 14k in naxx. It was kind of suprising, becuase I am the only aff. lock in the raid, our other lock is 0/41/30. I average around 10K during a full clear of naxx. If I'm not at the top of overall by the time we get to Saph and KT I am at the end. I will say that my dps is a little inconsistent, still need to work on movement mechanics on some of the bosses I guess. Just a thought, I think I read it here at the Den, but "rotation" doesn't really apply for affliction locks. I have an "opening" rotation, but after that its more of a priority proggression. If "x" spell is up then cast "y" spell, if "x" and "y" spells are up, then cast "z" spell, and so on. Basically I just keep a sharp eye on my Dotimer. I can usually plan a couple of casts ahead. Also, the #s I have seen for myself, seem to lean towards leaving immolate off during DS execute. I will have to watch it some more. The #s might be affected by specific boss situations and fight mechanics. Again, thank you to all of you who make this website what it is. |

So I have read a few pages of this and I haven't seen an answer to my question. It may be in there but I haven't seen it. I am a level 77 Affliction warlock with all recommended talents to maximize the drain soul execution phase. The problem that I am having is that whenever I use DS (and I have done this in isolated experiments as well) I don't seem to ever get the 4x damage bonus! This is a link to my armory page: The World of Warcraft Armory I have also done this against bosses and against the 80 epic dummy in IF to absolutely the same effect. In my regular ticks I seem to range from 600-800, then after 25%, and OF COURSE after resetting my DS well into 20%15%, I get only 800-1000! Exactly the 25% damage bonus from Deaths Embrace!! I am really annoyed that I can't seem to get this to work. Please let me know if I have done something wrong or if I am just and idiot and needed to read a few more of the posts, I appreciate any help you can provide.
