I changed quite a bit of my gear yesterday to my haste epics (which have sat dormant in my bank for ages now) and I re-gemmed a number of my +16 crit to +16 haste and, with spellstone instead of firestone, I lost about 8% crit (29% to 21%) but gained just over 10% haste (14% to 25%). The other thing I noticed was the huge increase in spell power with all the new spirit (which I expected but not to such a large degree). In the 25 man naxx I did last night, I was higher dps than I had ever been before, and one thing I did not expect was the fact that I could spam far, far longer before life tapping; but I guess this is due to the waaaay bigger spirit I have now. The only drawback now is that the rain of fire on trash does not crit as much as it used to, and it seems to crit more varying amounts (not sure why) which pulled down my overall dps. This left me roughly in the same dps position in 25 man as I was before (1st-3rd place) but the noticeable leap in dps on the bosses was very nice. I did a 10 man naxx straight afterwards with 1 of the 2 other people I fight for top place dps with and...well...I kicked his *** basically. On one trash mob I recorded 7.7k dps (pity it isn't that all the time) but my average dps on boss fights was between 4k and 5k. Well, except for 4H where I tanked one at the back - god I love doing that - and Sapphiron where I got out my lovely 4 piece frost resist gear set (an overkill I know but it cost me around 1500g so I use whenever I can now). I still came out being top dps on all but those two bosses and top dps overall. I also really enjoyed seeing all those lovely crits on soul fire towards the end of every boss fight - especially since I have an unreal tournament addon which goes through the UT kill slogans each time I crit. It didn't take before it was spamming "Wicked Sick!" at me! Ahhh, it brings an evil grin to my face each time I hear it :D |

What are the rest of your stats? Is there a way for me to look up your base stats? What T7 gear are you wearing? Tell me what to hunt for! I'm mostly just wearing all the hit gear i could find. I average about 3kdps. I want that 6k, I can't believe people are even doing that much! Nice! |

![]() On a more realistic topic note. Does your frost resist set have the same stats as your normal raid gear? I'm guessing it doesn't, but maybe try Sapph out without it and see where your dps goes from there on the meter overall. Do you run your own meter or do you rely on someone else to post for you?

I guess you could see it as a trade-off; on the one hand, having resistance gear helps the healers and allows you to make a few mistakes without them being costly. It also means that you can carry on casting through the ice showers, since they pretty much do no damage with your gear on. On the other hand, you do more dps without it because frost resist gear only has stamina and resistance stats on it (though the ring has a red gem slot - extra spell power). But you have to keep running away from the ice showers so this lowers your dps again. In my personal opinion, since there is no enrage and it is a very simple fight, it does not matter if it takes a bit longer if everyone is wearing frost resist gear. What it basically comes down to though is healers and general raid experience with this fight, if your healers aren't very good or you have only just got to the stage where you can reach these last two bosses in naxx, I'd say; get frost resist gear. If you are an experienced raid group, or you have 25 people that are naturally talented in warcraft tactics and bosses and how to best use their class (very rare if you ask me), you won't need resist gear for this fight. Also, Scrunchy, I know i'm 1st or 2nd dps on each boss fight currently, so on that fight, I really don't mind putting on full frost resist and seeing my dps fall to the point where calling her names might kill her quicker, but it is not a boring fight so I don't mind it at all. I use my own dps (recount) and aggro meter (omen). --- Information Added --- Quote:
Your talent points affect your hit rating so there is a different hit cap for both your affliction spells and destruction spells (I think the caps are different for destruction and affliction anyway). I used to just go to be.imba.hu and look myself up to see if i'd reached the cap for my talent spec but they have changed it recently and it no longer displays it for each type. I know for my current spec, using destruction spells mostly, my hit cap is 368. I know I am short of it by a few points at the moment, but since recount tells me I only miss 1 cast roughly for each wing of naxx I don't worry about it too much. I wear only T7.5 at the moment on slots where I don't already have better gear - except for my head slot, for which I am after either Gothiks Cowl or the T7.5 head piece. Currently I have Faerlina's Madness which is not bad but it seriously lacks gem slots. With all this I still only average 4k-5k dps, still not at that 6k yet or even close at the moment and with my luck, I won't get there for a while either (my average roll is about 14 so i'm really, really, really unlucky - I think I must have killed a leprechaun in a past life). |

Okay havok I'm sure I'm missing something. I looked at that fight and checked out your armory page. I'm guessing you changed spec? On your armory page you don't have the felguard ability but it shows you having one on that patchwerk fight. I would love a good demon spec so I'm excited about what you did to hit that dps. |

Last week 2 dropped on my 25 man run too, and I rolled a 9. The first went to our main Priest who rolled a 100. The second went to me, but only becuaes I was the only one still in our weekly raid group with a Hat of Wintry Doom. LOL Everyone had rolled ont he 2nd one, which I rolled a 14 on the 2nd one, and the RL said, Firepit still has a blue, and everyone else has at least and EPIC from 10 man, So Firepit gets it. I about crapped myself. |
