Fg/Em, 0/41/30 would be the best spec for you're gear. Why? Because all the buffs on your pet increases it's stamina and intellect which will increase your spell power. It might not be the top dps spec for 5 mans, but 5 man is all about trash and fg/em is the best for trash. After you get some more gear you might want to go affliction. The scaling of your gear for affliction is better. But the rotation is harder. |

thanks. i was wondering if the life tap glyph was actually worth it.. since it would only give me about 80 SP as long as i keep it up.. i must of read an outdated post for the hit cap then.. What's the Hit cap Mr. Wolf? - The Warlocks Den Forums is where i went.. i jsut looked at it now and it looks like they changed it.. when i looked at it, it said if you have the talents for chance to hit, it is 390 to be capped.. which sucks that that means im about 100 off.. lol. thank you for letting me know  and i meant that i couldnt find if the deep afflic is better for just raid bosses or the 40/31 or 41/30... most of what i found is simucraft and iv found some that say deep afflic is better and some that say otherwise.. those arent people actually going out and trying it for themselves.. |

speced into suppression, hit cap is 368. Hard cap is 446 without suppression. If you are taking a hybrid build (demo/dest) you will need to be at 446 since as of 3.1, the only hit talent is in affliction. |

oooh... ya i remember it said something about if you had points into a talent in destro that was not too far down the list.. must of gotten takin off on 3.1.. lame.. thanks for update EDIT -- ok i enchanted all i could with the best enchants i can find from a 450 enchanter wep, boots, bracers, chest, cloak, gloves Last edited by Sephent; April 19, 2009 at 07:58 PM.. |

You know, I am dual specced with both of these specs. In general I have had more success with the affl spec, but I wanted a burst spec for certain situations. |

Currently I haven't seen any build that is competitive with affliction since the nerf the other day. I'm currently using 53/1/17 and its working well, its definitely lower dps than affliction was pre patch but its still very good. I was 2nd overall and topped the meter a good few times (including patchwerk) in our 25 man lastnight. |

I also have not seen any build that can top my affl numbers (tried 3/13/55 and 0/40/31). I admit that I do not have decimate down, so it is certainly partially my fault. And yesterday, I forgot to switch to my extra hit gear, so my 0/40/31 was missing more than it should. |

Bursty specs like destruction and 40/31 are good for taking the adds down on Emalon. My affliction dps is higher than destruction, but without doomguard it's not that much higher. Play whichever build is the most fun. If you aren't full best in slot the min maxing of EJ/simucraft doesn't matter that much. Take them as a reference for a build of the spec you want to play, not as a means to decide on one. ;) A lot of it has to do with the player, and you'll perform better if you like the way your build works. |
