Re: Post your thoughts & suggestions to threat topic on official forums
I do believe our general omen goes something like rogue magex3 hunter or something like that. granted our warlocks ain't the world's best players around ( imo ), but it's a valid point and i'll keep that in mind when i raid this weekend. |

Not that this proves anything, but I think an objective analysis of threat (if there were some omen data dump) would show that point for point of damage, locks generate more threat than any other class. |

we run with 3 mages 2 warlocks 95% of the time ( roughly, eg 1 lock was away last week due to RL event ). the mages are some of the best on server imo since I've cleared everything from MC to Naxx(40) with them. the warlocks are re roll from another class back when The Burning Crusade was about spriest lock shammy. but yea getting an objective analysis of threat would be interesting tho bit hard to do since nothing is perfect in this world |

Our best geared warlock is always top of the threat meter. Even as a much-worse geared 'lock (relative to him and our tanks), I'm still usually pushing 2-5th in the threat meters despite what I would consider good use of soulshatter, though at my gear level it usually doesn't put me in danger of dying (though I'm always wary of being 2nd dps to a hunter in threat as I know as soon as the tank loses it I'm gonna be #1 reaally quickly). Thought on a change: Rather than a misdirect to the tank ability as suggested above, how about a misdirect ability/talent to your demon? Say 5% of your current threat gets transferred to your pet every second for 10 seconds, usable every 2-5 minutes. Then you can add a cool graphic like your demon grows all big and turns green and says something snarky like "you're gonna get me killed, you owe me one ". Or a passive talent that just transfers some of your threat directly to it. I'd love to see the VW get a threat transfer ability built into its taunt. Imagine how annoying it would be to have those big blueberries taking up monitor real estate in a raid setting for your melee...(plus would be nice for solo-ing). Yeah, maybe I'm just overly fond of the big galoot now that I find him immensely useful in BGs. |
