The red ball is still available On that note is this for pve or pvp? Not that big on pvp myself but for pve SP isn't something you have in your rotation unless your wanting to create threat. So if its a case of SP or Conflag then always conflag without even 2nd guessing it. As for CD being in your rotation its part of being a caster, embrace it. There is a good reason why things are on CD's, thats cos their awsum. For proper rotations and what not, do a quick search on the forums and you will be flooded with great info. PS The post was good for a giggle

Re: Searing Pain or Conflag
The only reason to EVER use SP in a PvE situation is when the healer has aggro--and even then it's situational. Other than that, always always always use whatever the theorycrafters say. I'm not too familiar with Destro personally, but there are a lot of great posts around in the forum. I'd suggest lurking moar, and using the search button a bit. FYI, if you could fill in your character specs and whatnot it'd be a lot easier to tailor information to you. For example, are you a level 40 or a level 80?

Re: Searing Pain or Conflag
Searing Pain should never be in a PvE rotation unless it is a special encounter in which you are tanking. Backdraft is good. Conflag Glyph is good - it prevents your immolate from being consumed. Use Conflag/CB every time their cooldown is up; waiting = lost DPS. |

Ignore the intolerant trolls, Hodag. They don't belong on this forum to begin with. Searing Pain generates an enormous amount of threat with very little payoff and should be avoided for that reason in dungeons and the like. Conflagarate, on the other hand, gets very VERY sexy when teamed up with the backdraft talents and the Glyph of Conflagarate (which prevents it from consuming your Immolate). Other talents you'll want to grab to up the sexy-factor: Emberstorm and Fire & Brimstone. Once you trade you Glyph of Searing Pain for the Conflag glyph and re-route those Imp. Searing Pain talents into backdraft, you can try a new rotation like Immolate - Conflag - Chaos Bolt - Incinerate and then fill with Incinerates until your Conflag and Chaos Bolt cooldowns are up and Immolate needs to be re-applied. On regular mobs, you won't often get past two Incinerates. Side Note: Be careful not to overlap your Immolates, as that makes for a painful dps loss. |

Re: Searing Pain or Conflag
Thanks so much Drathen! The only good reply I've had in this thread. I will drop SP for Conflag/ then.

Immolate>Conflag is a slight dps loss since there is a fraction of a second of dead time waiting for the immolate debuff to apply and the conflag ability to register. CoE>Immolate>CB>Conflag>3x incinerate is slightly better. If not on CoE duty then immolate>CoD>conflag>CB>2x incinerate works well. I believe in the priority system, disregarding curses, is breaks down as follows:
