Although lilsteele dealt with this to some degree I want to be crystal clear here:

Do NOT lifetap every 20 seconds during the fight just to keep the buff up. It is a DPS loss to do so. You should only life tap during the fight when you need to. Ideally you want to space your lifetaps out equally over the fight.

DO use rank 1 lifetap before the fight to put the buff up.

And as stated by lilsteele, if you are running ISL for the replenishment buff, you should not be using the Lifetap glyph as you won't need to lifetap enough to justify it.

What kind of dps are you guys doing on heroic XT? I do 6k and I thought that was just fine, but I was told 25 Nax locks were doing 6.8k dps on their first night in Ulduar. Is that possible? I have pretty decent gear, and if lesser locks are doing more dps I must be doing something wrong. Here's a wws from XT Wow Web Stats

It depends on what your job is.. If you are pulling off and chasing down adds, or get bad luck getting lightbomb/gravity bomb, your DPS is going to drop dramatically. (vs being able to stand and DPS the entire time)

If naxx locks are doing 6.8 I am guessing the almost have BiS everything pre-ulduar.

General Vezax:

Start burning your mana when he's below 10%... you might not get another shadow clash near you and finishing the fight with mana left is bad. This depends a bit on your positioning of course, if you stack you will always have shadow clashes around.

The following will totally ruin your dps, but increase your total damage output:

- have your pet (imp for destro) attack all the time, he regenerates mana. I've not yet figured out if they also benefit from shadow clash... should look at reports

- While not standing in a shadow clash buff, use your wand to dps the boss. In our first kill this was around 50k damage per caster, or 1/2 million HP in total. Also do it when you're oom of course.

Hodir:

don't dps flash freezes, stay on boss if threat allows you. This is of course a silly tip, but if personal dps is more important for you than raid success, you can follow it

Mimiron:
If you have fixed positions, drop a summoning portal there so you can quickly get back after running from a laser barrage.
Don't life tap, you got enough time to regain mana between the phases.

Kologarn:
Curse of Doom on the torso before you start dps on the arm.

Auriaya:
Use human racial ability (every man for himself) to break out of fear. Works once every 2 minutes.

Yogg:
Dual spec affliction I guess? Not yet killed... slacking guild

I don't have much experience with hard modes, so I don't know if these tips are applicable there.
