Anyone notice a drastic DPS drop since patch?
I was in OS the other night, hitting about the same 3k-3.5k (I am not completely well-geared) that I usually do. Then when I went to do heroics, my DPS randomly dropped to 1.7k rarely touching 2k. I thought something was terribly wrong but nothing was broken, and everything was up. In heroics I usually hit around 2.5k-3k but that wasn't happening. My chaos bolt crits were only 9k tops when theyre usually 11-12k. My conflagrate was hitting 6k crits instead of 9, and so on and so forth. I noticed a random 200sp drop in bonus SP as well as maybe a 3% drop in crit rating. The funny thing is as I kept putting on better and better gear it seemed to get worse and worse. Has anyone else had this problem? -a worried warlock |

Well, I noticed my dps is about the same as before the patch. HOWEVER, My friend who is a warlock, wasnt donig to well, and he noticed all his spells on his action bars, their ranks were skewed a bit. He had some Rank 3's on Immolate, and Rank 2 incinerate, when he fixed that, he was fine again. |

I seem to have dropped ~ 4% crit also on my lock. Havent looked at dps meters except 1 Heroic when I was on my pvp specced and geared rogue when my friend (normally a 4k afflock) posted the dps meters and he was sitting at just over 1k dps... naturally I helpfully told him to QQ moar but yep seems to be a lot of people have lost dps sp crit etc while others havent. Also noticed lots of hunters now have an extra talent point to spend atm... at least till blizz roll out hotfixes |

It's completely normal to have your dps drop in heroics as you will be missing buffs that you would usully have in a raid. Was the 1.7k-2k dps in boss fights? If it was then something must have been wrong. In heroics it's normal to lack a DK and Moonkin who can provide Ebon Plague and Earth and Moon respectively. If that is the case you should be using CoE instead of CoD. As for the CB crits it's due to Fire and Brimstone getting nerfed but the buff to Empowered Imp will give you more crits which should make up for it. |

I noticed the same (so I came to these forums to see if it was being discussed, glad to see it wasn't just me). I'll need to go back and check my action bars to see if the highest ranks are shown. Also noticed a decrease in my last Ulduar-10 run, but also noticed everyone's dps was a bit lower as well. |

I thought it was just me. I can do over 3k in a heroic and last night we ran COS and I couldn't even hit 2k. I was a bit pissed to say the least. I'll have to check my action bar and see if everything is where it should be, if not I think this might be a bug and in that case I hope they fix it fast. Edit: Just went to the heroic dummy in Org and hit 3.2k. I wonder if there was a bug last night. Right now everything seems normal. Last edited by Branden; August 07, 2009 at 06:47 PM.. |

No not really noticed any different I dont have really amazing gear but pull 3.6k normally in heroics and 4.3k sometimes with crits and trinkets. Usually at least 2 bosses in an hc. I love the destro build its really working for me. |

Yeah I am having the same problem. I am the regular 13/58 spec and the day before the patch I was hitting my maximum DPS of 4k on the Infinite Corrupter in H CoS. Now I am having trouble pulling 3k on him. At first I thought I was just having a bad run but i keep seeing my numbers drop with no clue as to why. |

I have noticed drastic drop in dps as well, glad it wasnt just me. I was in ToC heroic last night and could not for the life of me pass 2k. This also happened in H UK. My crit has dropped about 3% along with my spellpower where before patch i was at 2750sp now sitting at around 2500sp. i have many pieces of ulduar gear and usually can crank out 3k in heroics and around 5.5-6k in raids. Someone help! If this crap keeps up with blizz im about ready to leave the game altogether, its not worth the hassle or the money. |

My DPS in 25-man Ulduar seemed a little higher with both my Destruction and my Affliction spec. Nothing dramatic. It isn't a good example of DPS, but I was running about 12k+ dps on Hodir this last week until I pulled aggro and he pwned me. After the battle rez I was at like 9k dps. Keep in mind, there are a handful of buffs that REALLY help Warlock DPS no matter what spec you are. Apart from the obvious persistent buffs (Kings, MotW, Arcane Brilliance, Prayers), there are a couple of in-combat buffs you may or may not be getting that significantly effect your DPS. They are: 5% Crit Buff - From Moonkin Aura or an Elemental Shaman's Elemental Oath 3% Haste Buff - From Moonkins or a Ret Paladin (not sure what is specifically called). 280 Spell Power Buff / 10% Spell Power Buff - Totem of Wrath / Demonology Warlock's Demonic Pact 13% Spell Damage Debuff - Curse of Element, Moonkin's Earth and Moon, Unholy DK's Ebon Plaguebringer 5% Crit Debuff - Warlock's Improved Shadow Bolt, Fire Mage's Scorch, or a Frost Mage's Winter's Chill. All of those stack together to make for some awesome spell caster DPS. Not having any one of those can make you scratch your head and say "why is my dps so much lower?" The OP may have experienced this. Something else I thought of that the OP and some of you suffering from lower Destruction Warlock DPS - Make sure Phase Shift is always turned off for your imp so that it can receive raid buffs. I'm always surprised how many Warlocks I run into on my server that have their Imp's out-of-phase and not receiving raid buffs. With the changes to Empowered Imp, you will definitely want your Imp buffed with MotW, Kings, and Arcane Brilliance so that its crit is increased (and therefore YOUR crit is increased). After a boss wipe, I generally summon my Imp right at the door BEFORE I reach where the group is gathering. You definitely want your Imp out when raid buffs are happening. I have to do a facepalm whenever I see a Warlock summoning their Demon while raid buffs are happening, which means their Demon is missing those important buffs. Along those same lines, if you are Destruction spec'd consider picking up Improved Shadow Bolt for the 5% crit Debuff on mob. That 5% crit debuff helps you two-fold. You get the 5% increase as does your Imp which helps you again through Empowered Imp. You can easily work a Shadow Bolt every 30 seconds into your rotation. See my spec on the Armory page as that is what I have because almost no spell caster spec into it because they always assume someone else is stacking it. Mages seem to hate stacking it because it either takes 5 initial hits or a glyph to keep up. About the only Class specs where it is a no-brainier is Affliction and Demonology for Warlocks. But it will increase YOUR destruction DPS over other specs if no one else is around to stack this debuff. 5% crit is a LOT. Last edited by Pakku; August 07, 2009 at 07:51 PM.. |
