Crazy rotation I saw was it right?
So I am watching a french video of the new boss coming out in coliseum raid this week and this was his destruction rotation. Curse of Agony - corruption - immolate - incinerate - incinerate until dots need refreshing. Is that even close to anything right? In the rotation most people use do you wait till immolate has almost run its coarse before you refresh it ? |

Sounds more like a demo/hybrid rotation... And im not sure what you mean by the last point, yes you do, but there's no indication this guy doesn't. |

This doesn't look like a destro rotation to me, especially with no conflag. Sounds more like a 41/30, but I've never played the spec and don't know the rotation off hand. You always want to let your dots run out. Any overlap you cut off is wasted GCD and Mana. Just work on the timing for max uptime.

I can't think of any fight in ToC that would require this type of rotation (or any other place for that matter). I can understand tossing around instants (like corruption) when you have to move a lot, but if you're going to cast immolate, you should be casting Chaos Bolt. Also, unless the boss is going to go down real fast CoD is better than Curse of Agony and Corruption isn't really worth throwing into the mix. Make sure that the last tick of any dot you are casting has expired before you land a new one. That doesn't mean you need to start casting Immolate after it's dropped off the mob (it's better to start when the time left on your DoT is just short of your cast time), but it does mean that it's better to refresh late than refresh too early. If a DoT ticks every 3 seconds and you refresh it before the last tick, you're potentially increasing the time that DoT isn't doing any damage by 6 seconds. I didnt quite understand the question there.... But the rotation he uses is probs a 41/30 rotation to proc Molten Core. EDIT: By the time I've posted 4 others have replied... yay <.<

Well about immolate and the reason I asked about that dot is that it does some damage in the inital cast so in my destro rotatio. Doom - immo - conflag - chaos - incin - incin. Does it benefit me to cut immolate short ever. Since you get the damage instant as it hits where the other dots have just the tick damage |

even though immolate does initial damage you should still never cut off the dot short. for instance.. my cast time for my immolate is 1.4 seconds (i think). On quartz, the dot on the target has 1.2 seconds left.. I'd cast immolate. I wouldn't cast it if the duration of the dot is longer than the cast time.

He was probably not full destro spec'd. More than likely he was 0/41/30 considering you didn't mention conflag in his rotation. |

hmmm that sounds close to my 41/30 rotation which is CoE - immolate - incinerate - incinerate - incinerate - repeat at immolate. Throw in a SF when Decimate procs and Life Tap, Drain Life, or Drain soul as needed. |
