Re: Demo build
Yes i am talking about 10 man. The mage is already arcane, so we haven't had the debuff for a while. |

The dps increase is 900 via your results. You'll love Anub with demonology - the phases line up so well with Meta. Anytime we have 2 or more mages (or boomkins) I happily drop to meta, its much more involved than immolate, curse, conflag, CB, incin - keeping conflag, CB on CD and immolate & curse up. 2 debuffs & a buff is pretty funky. Plus with the SS I can reach 800-900 haste depending on setup. You can line up heroism, meta & execute stage for demonology which results in some quite disgusting spikes in dps. Has been said in several EJ threads that Meta on a well controlled lock can be much more competitive than people give it credit for. Just that destro is an easier rotation to master, and again, has very nice burst. 3.3 "should" be the coming of the baby demons...but will have to wait. I'm looking forward to a demonology main spec if we end up getting a 3rd mage or perma boomkin

I think the timing of it all is going to be a challenge, i will have to put all my spells on the table and work out what is good for what and when, when regarding those with cooldowns. one question springs to mind though, since i'll be replacing Abyssal Rune - Item - World of Warcraft with Shard of the Crystal Heart - Item - World of Warcraft to make up the lost hit from suppression, i'll have an on use haste trinket. So if i waited until under 35% for when decimation is up and i pop my trinket also, would that be a bigger dps increase or would waiting until bloodlust and popping meta AND the trinket be better? I'd have to judge the fight since i have the 3 minute cooldown. On NB for example you will have time to pop meta twice or three times, however on some fights it's hard to judge how long they will last and i can't imagine popping meta at the start of the fight will be of much benefit when considering aggro yet you may be able to get another one before the fight finishes? So to summarise, how would i fit my trinket around the demo playstyle and would bloodlust and trinket combo put me over the haste cap? Or am i just looking at all this in far too much detail? :P. |

Re: Demo build
I just switched to demo specs and still trying to figure out the best way to play in PvP (arena). The metamorphasis is interesting but I can't figure out how you use the extra abilities you're supposed to get. Maybe I'm confused but I thought you would get a couple of different spells you can use only in your meta state. Everytime I try a spell I get the message "you can't do that yet". It's still cool but I sure would like to learn how to play. Just using felguard gets kind of boring and I need the extra kick sometimes in arena. Would appreciate some constructive comments from anyone. I'm a level 80 warlock who used to be dual-spec affl and destr. I switched to demo bcause I just wasn't doing enough damage w/ destro -- people didn't want me in their raids. :-( Demo gives me more dps but I haven't found the right strategy yet to survive on a 3v3 arena team. |

Quote:
Demo isn't a great PVP build. You open yourself up to more forms of crowd control in Demon Form and with the advent of Dismantle/Expose Armor/Sunder, the armor bonus isn't really that great. The additional spells you are looking for are ONLY available while you are a demon. They are immolation Aura, Demon Charge, Challenging Howl (lol), and Shadow Cleave. Immolation Aura is a solid ability, but the rest are relatively lackluster and Challenging Howl is more of an insult than an ability. But I digress. Looking you over, I would suggest changing your build around a little: probably something like this: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft |
