Destro trash rotation question
I finally gave in and respeced from Affliction to Destro the other day and have read the forum posts about Destro rotations. My question though is: what is the best non-boss/trash mob rotation. Instead of Curse of Doom should I be dropping on Curse of Agony or is it just a waste of a GCD? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheeers. |

Destruction doesn't have a rotation. Trash dies too quickly for any curses. Just nuke em a time or two and they're dead. Heck, wand em a couple times and they're dead. ;) |

from my experience, the highest trash dps, with the best aggro management would be 41/30 Curse of Agony on a couple then rain of fire.... but this all depends on MC proc..... if it's just a couple of mobs with 500k+ hp then destro will shine regardless, well i can sometimes pull 5kdps+ but i'm not really focused on trash dps, boss dps/damage done is all that should really count at the end of the day. probably 40/31 aswell, but didn't try it for long as they nerfed conflag shortly after. |

Hi! Im assuming you meen trash in 10/25man instances and the talents 0/13/58 (destro). You could kinda go like this, if the mobs has less then 200k hp just do immolate+chaosbolt+incinerate spamm, if the mob got more them then 200k a Curse of Agony could be thrown in too. You dont want to use CoD couse the mob will never last for 1 min. It all depends on the mobs itself and how lazy you are at that moment :P |

For big trash packs, I like to Shadowfury, run up, Shadowflame, then hit Hellfire. But that's if I'm really lazy. Otherwise, just use Rain of Fire. As for slightly bigger mobs, just use a normal rotation. As I'm running up, I always like to put up Curse of Elements, because it usually takes time for a boomkin to put up Earth and Moon, and we don't have an unholy dk. So I just use CoE/Immo/Conf/CB If the mob is dying fast, I switch Conflagrate and Chaos Bolt, to reduce the amount of gcd's in order to get those two off before the mob dies. |

Single mob's I usually just follow my standard rotation but with multiple mobs that have reasonable health pools I like to pick one put Immolate on it and pop conflag hoping for Pyroclasm to proc and then just cast Rain of Fire over everything. The Pyroclasm proc gives a nice boost to RoF. |

I do know that some guild members comment on "overall dps" from recount, rather than just the boss fights (our members comment, but the raid and guild leaders do generally realise that 'locks aren't really trash mobs and consider individual fights seperately). Therefore it might be worth looking at why you're worried about your "trash dps". If you're worrying for yourself, just remember 'locks might not top the charts with trash, but when you come to a boss you should be kicking boss bottom!
