Firestone has been shown to be higher DPS for destruction warlocks than Spellstone. If you're destruction, use FIRESTONE.

The problem here is that many warlocks go to the EJ forum and read this post here:

And reference this part of that post:

When that compendium is horribly HORRIBLY out of date. EJ moderators should put a big fat warning on that post that people need to know it's out of date information.

And yet they don't read the simcraft thread which clearly shows firestone being used for the destro spec. But the simcraft post is hard for mere mortals to read, so most warlocks will read the PVE compendium and make the wrong choice :( :(

Lag is certainly a factor. But GCD is the mechanic behind not being able to simply start casting your next spell immediately and have it 'take'. You can try this out on a training dummy.
