@ lilsteele - Cheers for the comments. Maybe I grumped, but point still stands. I don't think - fundamentally - you shouldn't compare boomkins and shadowpriests to warlocks. Warlocks are part of 4 pures who can do nothing else but cause damage. We have no "other option". People complain about hybrids, I don't mind - we've got a few very good cat druids and ret paladins knocking about. I'm more concerned about outgearing some of our hunters and them posting some quite frankly ugly numbers. I had a look at the link at lunchtime, but I can't imagine locks being as close as simulationcraft puts us. We are more fragile than mages, hunters & rogues to group buffs. It takes 2-3 rotations to get settled every mob, which is 30s ramp up normally (ok its not paladin level of ramp up but still). This is what is hurting us (and paladins & shadow priests & a few others) on real vs theory damage. We can't get back up to speed as quick as rogues/DKs/hunters/mages/warriors. Maybe we could have a cooldown to blow at the start that allows us to jump into our regular routine asap...I don't know. I guess I'll see what 3.3 brings - just a lil disheartened gnoam at the incoming nerfs & already so-so damage. @Tragik - the numbers fiz posted from EJ are a (EDIT: original numbers were high, couldn't see Fix's post) 200 dps nerf from simcraft which puts us 600 or so behind mages on current gear. Mage T9 4 piece along with the DK probably goes somewhere to explaining why they're so high, and maybe our T10 will help more. Last check simcraft hadn't updated for PTR. |

Re: Deep Demo now top spec in current PTR
@Hort I agree with you, even for destro locks it takes a few rounds to ramp up our damage. This particularly hurts in ToC. We're a tank&spank class :/ |

My understanding, at least according to EJ, is that affliction locks are at the top of the heap in the early PTR 55/0/16 with the new Glyph of Decay. Anyone have anymore info on this? |

So exactly how much DPS are we estimating the new glyph to be worth? And how does that compare to the current recommended glyph setup of FG/meta/LT (and yes I know some people prefer immo over meta)?

Re: Deep Demo now top spec in current PTR
I honestly have tried to calculate it (I even tried here) but since the glyph changes how quickly Corruption deals damage, but does not reduce its duration, then I would assume that you get another full tick in as Demo with a spellstone on. If the glyph reduces Corruption's overall up time, then the effect is even more pronounced with corruption effectively dealing damage once every 2 seconds at 700 haste on a Master Conjurer's tooltip. I don't have a value to say that the glyph is going to provide, but can only draw that it will be much more substantial than 6 more seconds (aka 2-3 more spells) in Meta form. |
