it really is a shame that hellfire doesnt scale as well as rof, it really should to more damage than rof considering the cost of healers mana and the fact your in the thick of it so if you do pull agro your guarenteed a death rather than a mob running at you from a distance giving the tank a chance to taunt it off you or you soul shatter. the other problem is that it lasts longer than 10secs so you loose the stacks of trinks like IotDs unlike RoF. it is geat for scaring healers tho :-) Ade |

As a lot of people have suggested Hellfire with a healer or bubble is great but I haven't seen anyone mention Fire Protection Potions. Pop the highest level potion before you Hellfire and take little to no damage... well for that cast anyway. Since you pop the potion before you entered combat your other potions should be off cooldown if things get too hairy. Kalium PS ~ The worst thing about Hellfire is the insane mana cost... since it is so situational it could get by with a much lower to no mana cost. ( 87% at rank 1 and 64% at rank 5 )

Thanks to this thread, I used Hellfire in Scarlet Monastery Library last night. The effect was so damn cool. Bubbled, ran into the fray. Hellfired the hell out the mobs. There was another lock in our group who was very impressed and never thought of doing it. |
