My Rotation with CoD after conflag
I have read tons of forums and threads on rotations. This is my first time actually posting some of my feedback. I have been playing this game since classic and have always been a warlock. My rotation consists of Immolate>Chaos Bolt>Conflagrate>CoD>Incin Spam Yes this sounds crazy wasting a haste buff on CoD but when pyroclasm procs you get the 6% added shadow damage...seems worthwhile to me. My Dps is pretty decent i would like to assume. Just sharing a thought, i welcome all criticism. |

I usually throw cod on the boss first then do immolate chaos bolt conflag and spam incin. I mean seeing that is takes a min for your cod to actually go off are you benifiting from the pyroclam buff? I thought it was only for when the spell actually goes off not when you apply. I could be wrong here just thinking that it may be a waste to waste the haste when that spell is insta anyhow. I am normally pulling around 4k dps in a raid. |

They way i understand it is that any buff you have on you when the spell is cast it still benefits from it even 1 minute later. |

Seeing as how CoD is only around 300dps out of 6-7k/dps, I don't think it matters much. |

Honestly, I usually throw CoD right away because at the start of the fight, I am also working on positioning myself well for the rest of the fight. Throwing CoD after a potential pyroclasm might be "OK" as an optimization, but I think throwing the instants I can cast while the initial pull happens is a better use of time. In addition, even if I am not moving, the actual CAST of CoD causes very little thread and grants the tank 1 more GCD of being able to generate threat so by the time conflag is cast, it's very unlikely I will pull off of him or her. As an aside, Chaos Bolt should go after Conflag. -- Dyson |

That being said waiting until after your conflag in a fight that's 6+ minutes will result in a net loss of Chaos Bolts compared to Conflags. People for the love of god please quit making this forum bad and posting information that's incorrect!! *edit* and not using the haste buff for a Chaos Bolt makes me cringe.
