Re: Lead in Dmg but Low Dps?
IMO keep your recount the way it is (lower than everybody else) that way you'll keep pushing! j/k |

Re: Lead in Dmg but Low Dps?
Correct, I am looking for a settings screen cap. I have googled it to death and they only great guides I found were for healers and tanks. |

If your DOTs are ticking, it counts as cast time. If a boss goes underground, your DOTs can still tick on it, but since you aren't casting shadow bolts, your DPS goes down and your damage goes up. Most other classes aren't doing damage at this point, so you will out damage them. |

Re: Lead in Dmg but Low Dps?
Well, you might not out damage them, because those are spells you cast and have to wait for. But any situation where your dots tick but you cannot cast will cause your DPS to rise, while not affecting your damage done. Your time increases but you're not unloading new spells, while say, an arcane mage, has no dots ticking and their time isn't rising. As a result their DPS is higher but their damage done could well be lower. In 25 mans (we do them in conjunction with one of our server's more hardcore guilds, we get a mix of alts with similar gear to us and one or two mains who utterly melt face) I'm usually 10th or 11th for DPS but if I don't screw up, top 5 for damage done. |
