Gelbreazu Character Info Gelbreazu 80 Undead Warlock suramar US PvE Guild: seventh column Talent Spec: 0/14/57	firestone or spellstone? as title says im abit at a loss, with spellstone im getting 300+ more dps, BUT it dosnt make sence as 55% of my dps is from incinerate and only 19% immolate, and 15% conflag

The good part of the Spellstone isn't the 1% periodic damage (though that's nice), it's the +50 haste... Which works out to something like +35 spell power.

Which doesn't add up to 300 dps (maybe with 1% immolate / conflagrate it does?), but is the reason that it is > the firestone.

1.52% haste >> 1.07% crit, basically.

Evictoray Character Info Evictoray 80 Undead Warlock maiev US PvP Profile: Blizzard Armory	Re: firestone or spellstone? Fire Stone > Spell Stone for the +1% to direct damage. 60 haste roughly equals 65-70 dps. 49 crit roughly equals 40-45 dps.

But again, the +1% to direct damage is far greater than the difference between 60 haste and 49 crit.

Again covered many many times. Target dummies are not the same environment as being in a raid.

Simcraft does 10k fights of 5 min to have decent result. Target dummies are only usefull to get used with a dps "rotation" and configure combat addon.
