So last night i got uber lucky in icc25 with my guild and i managed to snag myself the lord marrow belt and the festergut boots, both with 80 haste,along with the rest of my gear im currently sitting at 1227 UNSTONED, stoned i belive i go up to about 1487! from what ive heard the GCD cap is about 1550, so im just wondering would i now benefit more from crit over haste? obviously spell power is still top but im just starting to wonder am i starting to not benefit from heroism or speed potions?

I have no quarrels over my dps im quite pleased with it, can regular hit 10k on many icc bosses, I just think lately im not benefiting as much from all this haste i have, but even so my crit isnt in a bad place so idk >.<!

Correct me if i'm wrong but going over the GCD haste cap will not prove too detrimental for a Demo lock as we only cast one (possibly two) instant cast spells.

Unless you go so far over that your other spells are less than 1 second cast the more haste the better as you will be able to fire off more shadow bolts, incinerates and soul fires.

Maybe you should try switching to affliction with so much of haste. Corruption with GoQD doesn't have any haste cap (correct me if I am wrong) so even with 2k haste you would benefit from bloodlust/heroism if you have been castinc Corruption under influence of BL/H. In Cataclysm all our dots are going to benefit from haste.

Simcraft should give quite accurate value for each of your stats, fully buffed it would be something like this:
SpellDamage=1.8522, Spirit=1.4876, HasteRating=1.3103, CritRating=0.9295, Intellect=0.8404

so haste is still clearly ahead crit, intellect getting interestingly high. And as a demo lock in raid, SP and spirit are actually worth more than above numbers.

The haste cap for a lock is massive, especially since around 50% of a demo locks damage is from shadow bolt.

you're fine. But yea, use simcraft.

Re: Demonology, to much haste ?

You really can't get too much haste as demo. Shadowbolt is a long cast, and let's not forget that more haste = more Molten Core procs.

You will never reach the point as demo where haste will be bad. In fact, I bet fully raid buffed with Pact up and all debuffs up on your target, haste outscales spell power for personal dps.

I'm about 100 haste lower than you and simcraft has indicated that with full raid buffs, my dps goes up higher point-by-point off haste than it does off spell power.

However, the pact buff would go down if I gemmed pure haste......so it's a catch 22......plus you'd need roughly 1800 haste on your tooltip to really start getting sbolt and Decimations to 1.5 seconds before herolust.

idk. Im gearing for 1300 haste as aff, which is like 1450 haste as demo. lol

I don't think there is a point where haste is worthless unless you're destro.

Its still your best stat (besides spellpower, for personal dps).

seriously, your guild has done a great job gearing you up. there's no such thing as too much haste imo. use simcraft. your gear deserves some simcraft plugs.
