Player skill has nothing to do with accounting for a **** up. A tank moves a dragon and raid gets tail swiped, or breathed on, or someone doesn't move out in time with a debuff and gets a fire patch/void zone under them making the raid move.

This is a dumb discussion, I'm just gonna edit this and smile lest it continue.

It wasen't dumb when you decided to respond with an opinion based solely around the misunderstanding of the difference between player skill and raid environment.

Re: Discrepancy between simcraft and reality

Helter Skelter setting still is only a few seconds of movement here and there. Heavy movement like listed for 4.0.3 is more true to reality. And we all know Destro and to a lesser degree Aff have an advantage in movement fights due to faster / instant casts.

Also simcraft now has an add setting, but that still isn't comparable to several cata fights. A V&T fight has a second target 99% of the time, giving Havoc and Soul Swap a huge advantage. But on a fight like Maloriak or Magmaw the loads of adds is just awesome for Demon's AE power. Currently there are more fights with just 1 or 2 adds most of the time so Demon falls back in averages.

If you want to compare Simcraft to StateOfDps, make sure to mostly look at single bosses and adjust the settings of simcraft to it (at least as close as possible).

Re: Discrepancy between simcraft and reality

After looking thru State of DPS I feel bad thinking my DPS would improve 3k just by switching from demo to destro. I think I'll have to at least give it a shot for a while. Movement is what hurts demo coupled with needing to be in melee range for immolation aura and shadowflame. I'm not a big fan of the idea of Bane of Havoc (seems gimicky?) but I have to think of it differently than just padding the meters...
